Yamaha has thrown down the gauntlet with their total redesign of the PW torque sensing mid-drive system. Now the PW-X. Gone is the creaky square taper crank. They added more torque. Which was already stated on par at 80Nm. 380gm lighter. More teeth and double the pawls for instant engagement coming off of the freewheel. Higher rpm support up to 120 cadence. And a redesigned and ruggedized display mounted behind the bar where it can't get hit. No longer just the cheapest factory mid-drive system, they may have just jumped past even the Specialized Brose as the best.
