Hi all,
As the heading states. Are there any 96v controllers (max 120v) out there that will support more than 430 battery Amps and 600 battery amps?

For cars, forklifts, boats maybe big motorcycles.

Not really in "bicycle" territory anymore.

Would need to weigh what 30+lbs to be god at its job?

The Kellys....

.... No? I see > 96v and > 400A...

I have a kelly kls72v controller and was not impressed by its ability. I don’t mind if the controller weighs 10kg. Even up to 15kg. It’s hard to find anyone with real world figures on controllers as very few are prepared to push the limits of them. I may just have to stick with sabvoton. As much flack as people throw at them. I’m yet to find anything that comes close to an unlocked 96120. It has taken 400+ battery amps and 600 phase amps for over 12 months of every day use. And only failed from getting stuck when it started pouring rain half way home. I’ve depleted 2 battery packs and the controller was still going.

96120? Can you tell me more about this one ( who makes it)? Which motor do you use?

Sabvoton 96120 UNLOCKED the locked versions are discraceful. With one of my controllers through them they forgot to unlock and the maximum current in settings was imo slow and powerless. They sent me through an unlock program and once programmed, the difference is nothing but speechless compared.

The motor is a QS273.
Is that controller capable of getting (close to) that motor's full potential?

APT 96800 and 961000 might be something if you can find them.
There is a note about them somwhere on this forum.

Thank you. I will look into that controller.

No, it barely gets warm. If I was overpowering it in future. It would only be for 10 sec at a time.

Votol em-300 would be an option. See www.votol.net
I did see these. Do you know of anyone using this controller with good results?

No, right now there are no users on ES that i know about. If you are the first, please start a thread :D

I messaged qs motors about purchasing a new controller and they sell that controller. But I noticed they have put ok there site “coming out next month 96v 150 controller, Details soon”. But of course I emailed about it and there response was we can unlock 96120 to 150a. 😳. I’ve had 3 96120 unlocked. And specified that.

Can i ask where do you buy unlocked 96120 version?? Im interested to try it. Thanks

Anyone else running these unlocked sabvonton controller well overspec?? If so how are they holding up? After seeing this post, I set the Max and rated dc current to 400a, flux weakening 200a, 600 phase amps at mid throttle. The power was absolutely mental. I really have anywhere of testing current but probably didn't use anywhere near those current I set. How long before it pops and fries?

So I recently started using a sabvoton controller and loving it so far! What’s the difference between the locked and unlocked? Also mines only the 80amp version so you guys are talking about way more power

You buy them through mqcon
Link please?

Not available from QS? I would think better as a kit pre-tuned / matched to the motor?

Also, anyone confirm the 96120 is true FOC with field weakening possible? also variable regen?

John61ct, if you bought as a kit, there is no guarantee that the controller will be pre-programmed. You would want to do that yourself anyway. Yes, yes and yes :) You can buy it anywhere you like, the unlocking process is super easy. Well worth it, the power difference is unreal.

Sorry I wasn't clear

I meant a purchase link to mqcon.

So the Sabvoton models QS sells are identical, maybe actually made by mqcon?

Apparently there are wildly varying controllers out there under the S name, no actual enforced "brand" identity, if there ever was.
