City Mantis foldable electric scooter

Postby tweeter » Mon Sep 07, 2009 4:21 am

Hi just joined to ask: has anyone tried one of these? http://www.coolscooters.info/r_city_mantis.htm

I like the fact that they're small and fast, but not that they look a bit cheap and are made in China.

Anyone?

cheers

Pretty sure Ikoo had this concept first:
ikoo.jpg

Ikoo site here:
http://www.ikoo.us/

They are promising a new version "soon" w/longer wheelbase, regen, ebrakes, etc

Cheers

yeah, actually I came across the Ikoo bike in my browsings. They're not the same, the Ikoo is made with way higher-quality stuff and is way higher priced :) Anyone seen the cheap n' cheerful City Mantis 'in the wild'?

both bikes are fine in a setting like New York or Los Angelos where you can ride on sidewalks but anywhere else, and you would get eaten alive on these things. They aren't fast enough in my opinion.

Wow, this doesn't look as cool as the Sharper Image Razor folding mini scooter, but I still love it. Does anyone know where to get one? I'm googling and see only reviews and news articles about it. Was this thing ever available for retail? Perhaps it goes by another name? 16mph sounds attractive. Mine only goes 10-12mph.

Free Shipping rebate! What a deal! OMG, who in the right mind will buy one of these at that price. That's so ridiculous! Surely this version is a lot more refined, but not $2,500 more refined. That's nuts.
