Hey does anyone know if multiple temperature sensors are possible on this unit?

It only comes with one sensor...

2 are possible, I have one set at my controller and one at my lipo pack, just ask for an extra temp sensor when making your order :D

This unit was recently suggested on my trip thread and I am doing a bit of follow-up with questions as I’ve been in conversation with Tech Support.

Restating my primary concern, the Voltage Limit is 80V. That is good because my battery pack operates at 63V. However – during Regen, I anticipate there will be voltage spikes in excess of 80V and this has me concerned.

The Device is connected inline between the Battery and Controller, or between the Battery and Charger. The rep suggested that some users have it connected to 100V battery systems, although he does not recommend it and reminds that it is out of spec.

It seems to me that if the device was not connected inline between Battery and Controller then the primary feature of current monitoring is defeated. The Controller (pair) that I will be using is the Lyen 12 x 4110 Extreme model, and I have set Regen/R12 mod to allow up to about 94V for maximum braking.

Has anyone using this device had issues with Regen voltage? Or, more importantly blown the unit? :?

Also - purely out of curiosity, what is the longest trip record stored by your Android? :)

Thanks, KF

100v worked fine for us, but I believe that the max voltage displayed is about 75v, I think it will measure and display the amps and also the watts correct as if it knows it is running at 100v but if you look at live view you will not see a higher voltage then 75v.

It also survived 100v 100a with the little 16 ? awg wires :D

Excellent! That is a relief :)

Bazaki, do I have it correct that you do not use the CA? And, on a related thought, how did you integrate the speed sensor, and was the setup easy?

Many thanks, KF

hey guys, i didn't realize the 75v ceiling problem, as for measuring accuracy we did stop measurement on 75v, now we changed the formula that make measurement extend to 100v and will release the firmware next week.
once again we do not recommend to feed voltage with more than 80v, but enjoy it.

i will spend time to visit here and make sure you guy will get support from us.

thank you Green Machine and Bazaki for you past support.

cheers,

danny

hi Green Machine, we are working on speed controller, featuring bluetooth, governor, dynamic regenerative and pas ... will release more information here, also we are working on governor board for eBike, however during the test we have found some lagging on speed regulation, so after speed controller project we will back on it ...
by the way, do you want additional temperature sensor ?

Wow dynamic regenerative? This is brand new device you are working on? A controller? How big will it be?

Yes i want additional temperature sensor please...

I met to email you about it...

PMing you now...

yes, we are stepped into speed controller now, dynamic regenerative mean you can change the regenerative level in the air via android device, choice the right regen level as you want ...
initially not big, just 6 x 4110, but will extend to 12 x 4110, just need to change the mosfet and case you know ... the input voltage range will be like eBike from 12v - 100v

any comments and advises are welcome !

yes we have Android client 2.0 and firmware for it, Android client 2.0 allow offline data view, you can download data from ebike right to your android without download to pc, with all trip records in hand you can do some trip and battery analysis ... i am in china now can not access 4shared.com to upload the pdf, so when i back to hong kong this weekend i will do it, if you interested now, please pm me your email address, i will send you the pdf !

Hey Danny,

So how many amps will this new controller be capable of? Can we run 100amps through it at 48 volts for example? Lots of us are interested in running lots of amps.

Will it be for motor with or without hall sensors or both? Can we run RC motor on it or just hub motors?

Will it have low voltage cut off or other protections for those of us that run lipos with no bms?

hey green machine,

the power just depend on number of mosfet and power of mosfet, if market need, we just need to change layout and case size, our design handle power input from 12V to 100V without need to change any resistor, and the voltage cutoff is done by android or pc, don't need to change resistor either !

support both hall and no hall, good idea to run on rc motor ! we did rc speed controller before http://www.raczing.com, theoretical yes we can support rc motor

keep discuss here

currently we focus on android only, we love to support iphone but apple block its bluetooth from transfer data because they want to control developer to use their connector and request profile sharing :(

we did on iphone by written app directly control the bluetooth chip, but now iphone changed the bluetooth chip to broadcom ... we didn't follow ...

I've had mine for a while ready to deploy when all my parts finally arrive. I'm going to use this as a dedicated display, no sim card required

we have sourced one dirt cheap china pmp however it is too big - 4.2" but cost is attractive ~ 25 Eur, we are working on its ROM to make it bluetooth support, but it has no gps supported :(

guys google this model :

WINDOW N3, this is cheap china android PMP, resistive touch screen, no GPS, no Bluetooth, it is 4.3 screen (may be too big ?)
we are working on its ROM to enable the bluetooth stack ... or use OTG to wire communicate with our product in the future !

Yeah I think 4.3 is too big, 2.8 or 3.2 would be much better.

OMG Greenman I actually agree with you on something  Yes the Archos 32 is probably a better choice, it runs Froyo 2.2 while the Samsung runs Eclair 2.1 and is more expensive. I may try it on my phone but it runs Gingerbread 2.3 so not sure if it's compatible since Speedict is not available in Android Market on 2.3.

hi remf,

OMG too, just realized we didn't upload our 2.3 compatible to Android Market, last week we sent 2.3 to our user who bought HTC, because it is not official therefore we sent apk instead, and it worked but we forgot to upload to market until today ... please wait for a moment, i do it TODAY ...
