Hi Danny,

I was wondering if it would be possible to implement a "battery gauge" function in the next release. The user could input the min. and max. voltage of his battery pack and the function could return the percentage that's left on the display screen. You could also add a battery type parameter to make it more universal.

Is such a function possible on the speedict next firmware release ?

we have planning such as point and click on google map to select start and end route, speedict ebike calculate and monitor while on the trip, including battery gauge, route plan etc, route save ...

for battery gauge feature alone without maps / route is much easier, so let discuss it, would you have any good idea or request on it please don't hesitate to discuss !

Would be cool to have an option for a percentage remaining guage in live view, or maybe a bar that reduces as battery is depleted.

On a seperate note, is anybody else finding the gps speed to be miles off? Using various speedo apps, the top speed for my trike is 42mph (verified using 2 other gps devices). But in the speedict software its totally off. I was trying to calibrate the speed sensor so I put sensor speed and gps speed on live view, and went for a ride. Sensor was about 3-4mph off the speed listed by my other gps devices and the speedo apps, but the gps speed in the software was consistently less than half the sensor speed!

What gives?

hi 3nslav3 and xnda2260,

can you help to check with your logs ? download your logs to PC and use PC suite to check both GPS and Speed sensor speed to see the different, i would like to make sure that the problem is whether on the GPS reception or incorrect live view display !

I'll try to test as soon as possible but I think you are right as usual mr Speedict

my speedmeter got broken (keeps sending an "ON" signal) so I think the reedswitch inside is messed up, looking for a replacement as we speak

Hi Danny,
Can we conclude that your company will lunch an ebike controller that has a speedict in it ?
Also, will the function of a battery gauge on the display screen be on the next firmware relase ?
Thanks

Just a post to tell that I'm very happy with Speedict service.

I had my Speedict that failed because I was pluggin the speedict without spark protection. I had advice from them and they send me back a new speedict.

Great service. I haven't say that to many sellers.. but I have to say thanks I think we can trust Speedict :)

Postby carfreemaine » Fri Jun 15, 2012 7:13 pm

Greetings,
I recently purchased a Speedict Sensor to use with my foldable E-Bike project
http://humblehackers.wikispaces.com/The+Flying+Yankee-+A+DIY%2C+Foldable+E-Bike%21
Originally, I was hoping to build a DIY version using an Arduino, but the more I researched the Speedict product, the more I've been blown away by everything it can (and will) do!
I just got my sensor in the mail today and I intend to use it with my Android Nexus S to display Battery power, Speed info etc and log the data for research purposes. I have a 20Inch 500-750Watt Front Hub Direct Drive SLA Kit from AmpedBikes so the inputs use Anderson Connectors for easy "Plug and Play" use. I am relatively comfortable with soldering, but would rather not break up the connectors as they are now. Is there a recommended configuration for use with Anderson connectors? One that doesn't necessarily involve cutting them up?

Thank You for an Incredible Product!

hi evb,

according to your uploaded GPS log, i don't see your GPS speed and speed sensor why ? to compare speed sensor and GPS speed please set your tire circumference correctly, and connect your android with speedict ebike while riding then download you log to pc or upload to our server as attached photos you can direct compare both lines (speeds), some GPS app may display incorrect speed / average speed due to signal reception e.g. you ride through a tunnel, all of sudden your GPS signal was absent between point A and Point B when GPS signal back and calculated time interval between point A to point C with averaged GPS signal may incorrect like 80km/h ....

Hi Danny,
set position to 9:57:00 (35700 sec) in my log :)

I tested in a car on speed 60-100km/h at the same time running 2 applications, speedict app shows gps speed not correctly on my smartphone.

attached is your log, you can see the green line (GPS speed) is flat and value is 0 ! can you make sure this was the one you loaded ?
