Hi All,

Saw this on EV Album and immediately wished I'd gone this route

The rear dropouts look a bit weedy for an X5.

It also needs a nice set of high bars 8)

It's very pretty, but the frame looks a bit whippy to me. I really like the idea of adding A123 packs as you need them though. Shame you have to bypass all the onboard smarts to get any decent current.

If someone could build a similar pack that was totally self contained, with onboard BMS and charger, designed so that packs could then be hooked up in series or parallel as you require then they would have a real winner I reckon.

He posted around here somewhere. Maybe it was on VforV.

While the frame might not be designed for the highest strength/weight ratio, it is very stylish. If the tubing is a bit oversized, I don't think strength would be an issue.

Lots of room for batteries in there!

he said the rear wheel (including motor) is 45lbs.

Anybody with a 45 pound bicycle wheel wheel is permanently out of the running in the "weight weenie" contest.
