trouble lacing up a h series hub into a 24" rim

Postby auraslip » Thu May 03, 2012 6:33 pm

I blew up my 9c laced into 24' rim. No problem I though because I have an H series motor that needs to be laced so I figured I could reuse the spokes and rim.

But I can't get it to work! The first set of spokes go in fine on both sides, but I absolutely can't get the first cross spokes to make it into the hole!

This is weird because according to the ebikes.ca spoke calculator the 9c and the h series motor should be the exact same size.

Here is the old lacing job. I sanded off the black paint from the rim.

I don't get it. Spokes are long or short?

Do I need to push the nipple through both walls of the rim to screw it in? That may thread, but it's hard to do that with out dropping the nipple in the rim.

Screw a spoke to the upper end of the nipple to fit and start it.

Pro-tips for noobs: Avoid BMS Battery like the plague | Charge RC Lipos to 4.15v, stop discharging at 3.5-3.6v | Use torque plates/arms! | Rear mounted hubs are always best
