ViewPicture2.JPGViewPicture3.JPGI came across a nice headlight that I thought I would share. I bought one on ebay from zsjladyshop, item #261101473285 for about $20.00 Tested it out with a 12 V battery and it is bright, I believe 1200 lumens, and has a good beam, not to concentrated, not too diffuse. Looks to be decent quality for the price. Not sure of long term durability, if I have any problems I will report back. The only thing it is missing is an on/off switch, so I will look for a bar mounted switch, any good finds out there? Notice that it can be run directly off pack voltage.

I like these switches. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/53/160/956/-/25858/Tusk-Universal-On-Off-Switch

Could you try it on a higher voltage and report back? Does the clamp work well on handlbars? Nice find thanks for sharing

Looks like the same one that is on ebay from a bunch of vendors, should work fine. I have not installed the light yet, but the clamp looks heavy duty. Probably will put some rubber in between, it has teeth that will do some damage for sure.

Very nice if it runs good at any voltage. Good price. Two of em would really rock, one aimed 10feet ahead, the other aimed 30 feet ahead.

Can you take it apart and make some nice pictures in the process? I would like to know which LEDs are in there.

Careful with these lights- the one I got drew 3 watts and definitely did not output anything close to 1200 lumens.
They worked fine at 48V (60 max) and were actually brighter at 48V than 12V but the one I got wasn't very useful as a front headlight.

Baware, most ebay LED light watts and lumens are wrong.
Example: This is 3x3W but actually barely 4W
but this is 4x1W and actually 4W :)
Lumen output between these two is almost same.
So if you find cheap high wattage LED, please measure and tell what real wattage.

Tried buid some poorsman lights:
4W real LED power, cost ~7$ burns ~2hours

8W real LED power, cost ~10$ burns ~3hours

Nice work. Like to see a shot with it on in the dark hitting a wall or something.

I am still in love with the SkyRay lights. Yea a bit more for sure , but the quality is there and it's a huge heatsink.

Still impressed with your build.
