Hi guys!
I currently have a CA for my Mac motor and I love it, but Id like to get another meter for my GNG motor but nothing too expensive or fancy.
I am mainly looking for a meter that can give the basic readouts and can handle 72V.
I had Turnigys but they arent rated that high.

Any other solutions? I do have a voltage display, 0-100V I believe from ebay, but Im looking for more detailed readings besides the voltage.

Thanks!!

Just a quick find.

The description says Power Supply 5V-40V though. Can it be used with a 72V battery?

Needs separate power 5-40V if source to be measured is above 40V. Supply need not be isolated (i.e. can have common ground). So - can be powered from battery balance tap (<40V) or almost certainly from controller throttle voltage (5V) - current draw should be minimal.

Been around for awhile - see post from two years ago.

I have a CA but Im looking for a cheaper meter for my second motor.
My voltage is 72V...so if 72V is my source then that meter wont work, correct?
They say under 40V

funny to see that I am in a similar situation,
I don't know how cheap is cheap for you but you might be interrested by the Battman

The Battman is a multifunctional gismo, and it is priced much higher than a basic voltmeter.

but it handles over 60V where a watt meter will blow the screen

There is a kind of ghetto style compromise also
depending on your battery arrangement : you could still use the turnigy wattmeter if connected within your pack arrangement (like at 6s out of 18s) : the A, Ap, and Ah would be correct,
and to measure the voltage, you could use as many as needed of those

but W, Wh would need to be calculated, and no chance to see Wpeak or minV recorded ...which sucks.

Two of the cheap 60v voltmeters, unacceptable to double the price to 4 bucks. Each one could monitor 36v.

Seriously this time,,, If you have decently matched cells in your pack, why not just monitor 12 or 14 s of it? Just hook in to a portion of the pack, and trust that the rest of it will be fine. You could do this with one of those cheap blue wattmeters with the right wiring set up.

What I do with my HK lipo, is I know my pack well. I know which pack in an assembly of a dozen hk packs has the weakest cell in it. Then when I need to do a very deep discharge, I just put one of those cheapie alarms on that one weakest pack.

No need for a dozen of those things hanging off my battery. Just one, on the weakest cells.

FWIW, I always also have a CA on the bike. I have zero regrets buying three of them, and still want one more.

Since i need the meter to read a 72v battery, then I guess Ill need seperate power 5v~40v.
So do you mean the negative can be mounted anywhere since its common ground and I could tap the
positive into the 5v throttle positive?
Thx
