Thought I publish some useful links to a EBike simulator etc which helped me determine the requirements when choosing a EBike / kit

The tool simulates your journey, helping to predict the battery life for your particular scenarios, and should help ensure you remain within budget.

Firstly Determine the basis Requirements

mAX Speed - MPH
Battery type - 600 charges LI-ION or 2000 charges lipo
Daily usage in Miles
Terrain (flat or hilly)
Total Weight -KG
Drag Coeficient (Most of the power will be consummed over coming wind resistance)

To determin the motor specification:
The yellow table below calculates the speed MPH for your bike, it will help determin the motor RPM, using the wheel size measured in inches.
The motor size is usually defined in Watts, whch can be detarmined from the simulator; although in my experiance 250 watts = 20mph max 500 watts = 30mph max

The most expensive part of any ebike is the Battery, ensuring this is sized correctly.
Use the simulator to calculate the battery size in Amp hours & Volts.

Here a link to the Simulator -Created by Bartek from Poland.

This tools will help you gain an apprieciation of the link between speed and battery life
