You know how such a vehicle would handle in the real world with such a narrow wheelbase, yeah? wouldn't be pretty..

good point, I'm thinking a "go-cart" style would make more sense. put the two seats next to each other, lower the whole center of mass, with a wider wheelbase.

How would that work in 2 wheel form? Seems it would be super top heavy.

That thing is pretty damned cool, but too slow for the street and no way you are getting it on bike paths for long. 800 watt seems tiny also. Only practical application I can think of is a golf cart community maybe. Stability would definitely be a huge issue if you modded it for 3kw motor and 72v+ for sure.

That's an NEV. Lots of them out there, such as the gem.

In "bike" class, there are a few three wheeled types out there.

The one you can buy right now in the USA is the ELF.

what I meant by bicycle form was make it classified as a bicycle.

A nice solid enclosed vehicle. Though I admit, it looks like it could tilt. A solid body would be nice that could possibly fit in a bicycle lane and be classified as a bicycle.'
Forget efficiency as long as it can go 20mph and hill climb.

A lower center of gravity

I assume you do know the derivation of the word "BI CYCLE" .??

Most of the USA at least, three wheels and pedals is still a bike. 4 wheels is a golf cart, or NEV. even if it has pedals. In my town though, cops do not hassle the old guy pedaling his 4 wheel vehicle. He's so obviously pedaling, and so obviously harmless.

But if it looks like something fast, and they can't see you pedaling, cop attitude could change.

Again, the one I know you can get your hands on now, is the ELF. It's motorized, so no having to convert it. Legal in most of the USA. Legal in CA I think.

But yeah, it's not so slick looking, like a cop magnet. But I think it's pretty cool. http://organictransit.com/
