Holy cow 3400 bucks for an ebike with a basket?

O wait getting a basket is a $100 option...

Hehe...

I have seen e-bikes for as low as $500, why do CERO bikes cost more?

Quality of build and using durable components matter when making electric cargo bikes that can last longer, be more reliable, and have the warranty backing you deserve. At CERO we are proud to build our bikes with the highest quality materials and components, to give you the confidence you need. Additionally, there are many cheap electric motor systems for bikes in the market, but we pride ourselves in using the Shimano Steps system, so you can be sure of its dependability and durability. Battery technology is bound to become less expensive in the future, but for now cheaply priced electric bikes equal cheaply made products.

But you might miss your stored stuff if you leave it parked out of sight for a few minutes

Hehe... Some lazy so-and-so made me look it up...

https://cero.bike/cero-one/#specs

Includes:
Motor Drive Unit Shimano STEPS 6050 Drive Unit for up 20mph pedal-assist
Battery Shimano STEPS 8010 Battery, 504Wh, up to 93 mile range

Mmmm... "EPM Bass Nipples"... Mmmm... DO love those bass nipples... Hehe... "up to 93 mile range"... Love how folks promo range including lots of pedaling, lots of down hills... with a tail wind... using a fully charged, "fresh"/newish battery.

Thing about buying "newest model" stuff... aka the "bleeding edge" (financially-speaking) is that as production volumes go up, and competitors enter the market... tends to drive prices lower in the future.

Pricy, but still a very nice design. Makes you want to go out to the frame pile, and weld your own, with modifications of course.

One thing I learned at EBK, when they introduced the liberty trike. Its unbelievable how long it takes, and how much it costs to start out with anything but a stock frame. There was a year of development in the LT. Getting from prototype to production was a very long process.

Be cool though, to see them sell around $1500 in three years or so. To get that price, they'd have to lose the shimano mid drive, and go generic china.

^^ Hehe... Having read a bit about the early daze of the "horseless carriage" [Cough Cough... hehe]... t'were the "wealthy" that bought in first... spending "silly" amounts of money... Then along came folks like American Henry Ford. LOVE the DIY Krew... but suspect they're about to be up against many, high-volume producing manufacturers? Like EG... anybuddy still making their own electric bikes in Europe these daze? I actually have a friend nearby who is living in the house his father mostly built himself many decades ago. :)

According to British humorist magazine Punch in 1895, it took maybe a decade for the "wealthy" to switch from horses to bicycles...
