Voltage boosters

Anyone use these to charger there DIY batteries.
I have plenty of 12v 30a switching PSU about the house and these can be bought for £20 with a digital display allowing you to play with voltage and amps.

Closest charger here in the UK I've found is £50

The only problem I can think of with the booster is trying to case it I've been looking at the bst400 for my needs (14s)
 
I've seen a few people try them. The amp ratings given are generally exaggerated quite a bit. If you get one "rated" for about double what you want and use a cooling fan, it might work OK.

You will need a voltage cut off or risk killing the batteries in a overcharging mishap
