I confess I bought already a Mars ME0907 that I want to use for an e-motorbike in couple
with a 36 mosfet infineon from e-crazyman and it
looks to be a very reliable option, except that power is limited ...

On the other end, if the colossus works fine as expected, I would prefer it for motorbike use and
I would re-purpose the Mars for a future electric boat ...

. No nobody makes a controlle that can make any power with this yeat!!! I started a controller build thread just because of this motor! People say they have it running but untill you see video of hi power i wont belive it! We can drive this motor with some of the controllers but only at low power if somebody makes 30 hp on a dyno i want to see video!!!

the limit is that their motor and controller are targeted to aircraft use,
so we would have the same recurrent problem: they are not suited to
tolerate the high load at low rpm we need ... BOOOOOOOOMMMM

Im going through the very slow process of building a controller from scratch! And splinter is using a kelly so.... Whats there to talk about we are at the mercy of mosfets that cant handle colossus!

In my very early stages of controller testing I lernt how to blow up over 1000$ worth of megafets in seconds and it wasnt even colossus's fault! Dont worry I will have colossus running at very hi power levels it just takes time. Im building a bench for my lab and am lerning to program PIC processors and building an open source controller see "Not simple controller thread" It will come together it just takes time!

Seems like the Croatian dudes are busy with the RIMAC Concept One. I hope to get a hold of them again soon.

As for making the motor run. I am using a Kelly 500amp 72volt controller on my bike and I am doing test runs on the bike to confirm the setup.

Note I am running a 30ah Headway pack and I am limiting battery current due to that. With the last tweaks (controller settings and Burtie's Timing Adjuster fitted and dialed in) I am now getting up to 85km/h with 100amp draw on the battery that is around 7.6 Kw assuming my battery pack is holding up to 76volts (need to add a volt meter for testing).

I am yet to have the Kelly cut out or blow up.

I would still very much like to get hold of one of these motors, So is it only two of these motors that is being played with on this forum ?. Do the motors still exist ?. Not much point trying to work out a controller for the motor if no one can get hold of it.

This is right: the RIMAC concept car has taken the lights away from
the COLOSSUS MOTOR .. THAT MAKE SENSE !!! The guys have bigger things ...

.... so we wait and see what will happen next!

7kW stable no plasma without water cooling and chopped battery?
So far so good ..... I would say it is working REALLY fine ...

Wish I could experiment with something like this once in the near future!

I am not working on RIMAC project..Hal is ... Two big giant motors are not in anyway affiliated with colossus , those motors are by the way inrunners as i can see. Colossus motors are still in test mode (we didnt run it with new controller), and hal is busy so he didnt have time to put it on Egenric. Arlo and Splinter have the motors since they are the first two guys who wanted them badly enough and had experience or friends that can help if something goes wrong. We are working on them , i have made something new ; so i am waiting for factory to send it a . After 3 months we will start taking orders i think. Just give us time to get all bugs controller-motor figured out .

However I am going to rig up a small camera, volt meter, amp meter and GPS speedo so you can all see how it is going. Give me a day or so.

We are working on them , i have made something new ; so i am waiting for factory to send it a . After 3 months we will start taking orders i think. Just give us time to get all bugs controller-motor figured out .

Shitzz..if you were in Croatia , me and my pal Grga would put so many instruments on your motorbike from cycle analyst to couple of dozen volt meters that you would look like New Year crithsmas in New York.. Doesent anybody have the version you need near you - just for you to abuse it for a while ..? Basically Cycle analyst records also peak power , my other instruments dont do that... Well i know one that is being made here in Croatia , it will record anything....but still in early stages...

If you follow the wiring you can open up the Kelly and install the CA to work with it. Just have to cut the end of the CA wire plug off and solder the wires where they need to go on the circuit board.

Arlo1, I am quite happy to leave my working and in warranty Kelly intact. I might be able to get hold of a cycle analyst and shunt later this week. That would allow some real data.
However I can get nearly all the same info with a amp meter (already on the bike), speedo (have to put on the magnet) and volt meter. That will give me the instantaneous usage at any time for any given speed. I just don't know Wh per km not a big deal at the moment.

Yeh if you have the data you need its not worth the hasle. Have you got something to watch phase amps?
