Could anyone with good knowledge of electric motors help me understand what has happened to this motor for an 48V OSET 20 trial bike?

The motor has been used with a standard 48V battery, but suddenly started to become very hot, and it smelled burned.

As you can see on the image, the windings looks like burned, but also teared apart. Could this be a warranty issue? The bike is only 1 year old.

I believe oset use a XYD14 motor, but they are quite costy..

He says it can not happen under normal conditions.. Well, but it did.. As you can see on the image, the windings seems to be teared up. Could that be the reason?

It burned up due to being overheated ( this usually can happen on a long hill + the motor controller has been specced to run the motor at far too high an amperage + does not have a thermal limit ), or from a design flaw that caused the motor to burn up.

It's a goner.

Denying warranty why exactly? Did you open it up FIRST? How did the dealer come to say this was not proper usage? Exactly what happened to the motor and exactly what did you say to the dealer?
