cheap -high power motor combination

Post by bionicon » Dec 03, 2017 6:19 am

Somebody ever tried this:https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/BM1424HQ ... Title=true with a kelly KBS72221E for short burst of 260 amps?
Its like the bht motor but a little bigger, and we know that this 1200watt motor can take alot more :D
This bigger bht(rated for 2000watt) motor can maybe take short burts of 260 amps at 75 volt good for 19 kw?
I feel the need of trying it, and it works will this be a cheap high power combination?

19kw input would burn up both the motor and controller you listed in short order. FWIW, Kelly lists what they call "motor current", which is phase current. A common mistake on the forum is to multiply phase current times voltage to come up with power in watts, which isn't a valid number. To make matters worse people often use fresh off the charger pack voltage in the equation, but it's impossible for our batteries to put out that voltage under load.

Can the motor handle the 7kw or so peak impulse power that controller might be able to deliver? Yeah probably, since the vendor shows it matched with a big mailbox 36 fet controller.

I like to put voltage down in the middle of the voltage plateau curve.

At $320usd shipped is not too bad, have you looked at the Cyclone TW website?
http://www.cyclone-tw.com/motor.html
They have listed a 18kw motor for $550usd, 8kw $340, cont's another $150 plus shipping.
