Since more and more of the new version of these controllers are getting in people's hands, I am hoping someone has an idea how to go about tuning the overspeed features.
I haven't come across any reference for what "Flux Weakening Finetune", "Flux Weakening Position", or "Flux Weakening Turnpoint" mean. I've seen where some people set the level to 20 or so and it magically worked, but that hasn't been the case for me. So far, I've had exactly zero luck getting it to work under load. You can very easily tell when it goes into flux weakening unloaded, but my speeds have not increased when loaded. My first assumption is that these are essentially PID's, but I have no real basis for making that assumption.
Right now, my process is very experimental. I'm taking a set weakening level and adjusting the other parameters in low, mid, and high values, just working through every combination with a quick road test recording max speed. I've run through around half of these and have not seen any change.
One thing I have noticed is that with "Speed Limit" set to 100% and "Flux Weakening Level" set to 0, my speed is significantly slower than with a trap controller that was OEM on the bike. With "Speed Limit" set to 130% and "Flux Weakening Level" still set to 0, my peak speed is the same as before, as if 130% actually corresponds to 100% and of course no flux weakening occurs.
