Mmmmm tasty! Looks like you designed in just about everything I ever mentioned in threads about what to include in an Ebike frame. Presumably a steel swingarm? As always no cash with me, but for those looking to have the best this looks fantastic! Even if the swingarm is aluminum, looks like the fixie style dropout would make adding a pinch dropout as easy as drilling 2 holes. LOVE the dual battery trays that would allow carrying a ton of lipo leaving the rear rack empty for carrying the beer.

You mention it's set up for 24" rims. Is the headset geometry set up for use of a normal 26" rim and suspension fork? Or is it made to run 24" both ends, but using a disk brake 26" suspension fork? A good 24" fork would be a rare critter.
THE LIPO RULES. NEVER ABOVE 4.3V NEVER BELOW 2.7V DON'T PUNCTURE

Ideal charging /discharging range for Lipo, 3.65v minimum 4.1v maximum

See battery technology section, FAQ thread at the top of the page for lipo noob info.

Wow. very nice. Does the frame include the shock? If so what is it? What is the head angle?

Thanks!

Also, what is the axle to axle dimension? That would be important for determinining if it will fit bus racks. Its got added length due to the seat post battery area and the monoshock.

I like the step through design.

Looks awesome. The only thing I would say is to make it compatible with a 26 inch rim in the back. 24 is a little harder to source a good selection of tires for. Otherwise I love it ..

hi all,

my designer will have all the specifics soon for you guys,,,6061 aluminum and whatever materials deemed necessary for strength,,,,all considerations are being taken care of as we have
a world class bike manufacturer helping in the development phase, this is the real deal folks,,,more info and all questions will be answered as i posted this late last night and i have a full workload today,,,but rest assured all will be done to accomplish a great product,,,give me a few days and all specifics will be posted,,,in the meantime dont be afraid to place deposits, i need to see real conviction and faith as my investment alone will be well over $200,000.00 to make this project happen,,,if i see just a few people, just 25 to 50 giving deposits i will put up the cash to make this happen,,,SO COMMON PEOPLE! WE NEED THIS BIKE! AND IT IS READY TO GO INTO MANUFACTURING PHASE! it has been already a full year in the planning stage as well as countless revisions in design. As Rocky's trainer mickey said when Adrian awoke from her coma and told him that all she wanted was for him to win,,,,mickey said "what arrrrrr we waiting for!!!! can you hear the dramatic bells?

Have you made a prototype? It would be nice to see a build review or even advantageous to look at a picture or two of a fill scale item.

Not to be pessimistic, but that's one ugly looking frame. It looks like something my grandma would ride, and why 24" rims? Also, you are going to invest $200,000 and all you have to show for it are these tiny little renderings???

Good Luck, a fail on all accounts in my book.

All my alarm bells just went off at once. The only way to reset them would be to see a real-life frame :P

Edit: Maxwell, I realise you've earned a good reputation here for selling motors at reasonable prices. It's just that phrases like that get me worried. It would be nice to see a prototype if you're serious about selling these.

I would not buy an aluminum frame for an ebike with no triangulation on the rear swingarm. Aluminum is kinda a fail material for an ebike IMHO.

It it was CroMo, and you had done at least 2 test versions for discovery (because nobody ever gets a design 100% right on the first run, and you cant discover the things you wish were a bit different until after you're physically riding or mounting up batts etc), I would buy one for a nice around town bike.

I also do think Maxwell will deliver to anyone who pays a deposit, the guy has been solid for years.
For ebike parts, don't be a douche, buy from http://www.ebikes.ca or http://www.MethTek.com

Kichstarter.com is a great place to establish buyers/backers for a project, to gauge interest, escrow deposits, etc. If a project does not meet the minimum goal before the due date, deposits are returned and the project is called off. Everybody's interest is protected.
1st build: Dahon Jetstream folding bike. Quick, reliable, capable of 30mph. Light enough to lift, folds for easy transport by car/bus/train.
2nd build: RC powered 2009 Norco A-Line. Top speed 31mph. Built like a tank, it's resistant to Boston potholes, can stop on a dime, easily goes up/down curbs when necessary.
3rd build (just started): Scratch build ultimate utility bike.

Re: The worlds best E-bike frame, taking deposits!!!

Postby maxwell65 » Thu Jun 30, 2011 10:12 pm

hi all,,

its not fully 6061, this bike will be rock solid as i said we are working with a world class bike company and more details about the build will be coming soon, when i say $200,000.00 investment it is not solely for the frame,,,,once the frame goes into production i have to bring in lifepo4 for at least 50 to 100 units,,,as well as all the other accessories involved ...so $200,000.00 is no exaggeration,,,some ones gotta pay the tab.

what makes this bike a great design is its "pedal friendly", not like the e-scooters that are out there today where the pedals are very far apart. and it allows a tremendous amount of battery space for long range Sunday drives.and the best part of all it looks like a bike but will ride like a motored bike all without having to be licensed or registered.

about the deposits: not a single penny will be spent until the bike is ready to be delivered,,,the company im working with is ISO certified and will not and cannot release a bike unless deemed road worthy,,,so anybody that thinks for one second that the bike is going to fall apart like a pile of dust better think again,,,this company manufactures huge amounts of bike frames and has a state of the art facility with equipment that will make your head spin.not to mention an engineering team that knows a thing or two about bike design.

i simply want the deposits to see how serious people are about owning one of these,,,i for one would buy it in a heart beat as i know what i want in an e-bike and this is the one that meets the ultimate criteria,,,great range, great power and speed and maneuverability. 25 to 50 people show me that their ready to buy this with a 200$ deposit and i will invest the money to make this happen...all deposits will be returned if this frame does not get manufactured,,,however they will lose the deposits if it gets manufactured and they refuse to pay the 400$ to accept delivery,,,,(delivery costs to the persons home not included as well as taxes if applicable)

So. How are the prototypes holding up? I assume you don't plan to go straight to full production without at least one prototype built, tested, and abused.

im looking into having a prototype made, but for what its going to cost it may actually be more advantageous to just start on a first run production of a 100 units....with the engineers that are advising me this model will hold up fine and i will have no problem recouping most of the costs.

+1 Don't think i have seen a more dog ugly frame than that, i would also beware paying paylpal via 'personal gift'
this option has no insurance with it, if the sale goes bad you lose your money no buyer protection coverage from PP.

That said, best of luck getting them produced and sold, will need luck for the later unless the design is drastically changed...IMHO.

I would strongly recommend planning on at least one or two design iterations before hitting the go button on a large order, to minimise your risk. But it is your money/business.

Here is a story of someone else that went down a similar path of getting a custom frame/bike built for them that you may find interesting. http://www.solarbike.com.au/fixi%20story.php

I do wish you all the best. It would be great to see a high quality, high volume, purpose built frame available for the ebike market.

Regards,
Adrian

I'm interested but before I spend $200 I need to see/know the following:
Rake angle, needs to fit 26" wheels, weight, wheelbase, dropout details, price/details on the rear shock. Seat post and fork stem diameters.

Things that would help persuade me:
Real photos of a prototype. Information on paint, will it come painted? What colors? International shipping costs, I've seen shipping prices for complete bikes for $50 to $500.

Just not enough information now to commit.
