Are you serious? I have Tidalforce frame with 26" hookworm tires and I weight 180lbs. It almost threw me off the ebike when i hit pothole at 42mph (mostly commuter to work + home). I rather have full suspension like Stealth Bomber looks super sweet setup.

Please create full suspension bike design similar stealth bomber, I guaranteed you that everyone in ES would buy it no time.

Agree about having a full suspension frame similar to the stealth bomber.

I would like to see one that is 20 inch wheel compatable. Without being as heavy as a tank.

ok i have to say i always avoided any real potholes,,,but have been on some bumpy roads, that being said why not just buy the stealth bomber if its such a great bike?

the ebike we are producing is for paved roads, not off road.the big ass tires should absorb regular bumps in the road,as for potholes, with or without the shocks there will still be damage im sure,i have been caught on a few big potholes with my car and sure the shocks lessen the blow but there will be some damage alignment wise IMHO.

P_Scott

hard to say for sure but here is a rough estimate,,,

frame 400$
front fork 100$ to infinity
motor 300$
controller 160$
pedals with crank arms, gears etc,,,50$ (just a guess)
chain 20$ (just a guess)
rear 7 speed cassette 20$
rims 50$ for pair,moped type
tires 75$ for good quality moped type(just a guess)
disk brakes 80$ complete kit
speed shifter kit apx 70$
charger 100$ apx
BMS 100$ apx

total $1525.00 ,,,add batteries to this price
batteries 48v30ah 736$,,,, or 60v30ah 920$
plus shipping to your home apx 200$ to canada/USA (just a guess) i will speak to a rep from fedex to try and secure good pricing

also i will have full turnkey kits available for sure,so yes all supply of components will be secured 100%

That's not a bad price at all Max, a good decent mountain bike will cost around that and more, and you still have the pain in the ass of mounting all the batteries.

The batteries are reasonably priced too, what LiFeP04 batteries will you be using ?

Will there be a place to mount the controller ?

WOW!! What a great improvement you have made to this bike Maxwell, very wise of you to take the advice of the guys here, you have made 100% better bike frame, if I had the cash I would definately snap one up. Are you including the cover, or at least supplying that at extra cost? Two thumbs up bro! :D

I really like the improvements to the bike. It's moved to a much more sleek "Skinny bike" style. If I had the money, I would be potentially be interested in this (I've considered using that style of motorcycle bike for an ebike but that is still too expensive for me, and not quite as svelte as this. This looks like a great halfway between the bike and the skinny style of 2 stroke motorcycle.). But it'll be a while before I'm in the place to be considering something like this.
New to endless-sphere? Notice a lot of signatures recommending Ebike.ca? That's because it's the best place for a quality and manageable, (but still 'real'), first build. Justin is a solid supporter of electric bike development, and a good source of equipment.

I understand, I think you don't get it and I commuter 2.45AM in the morning. How can you expect when riding in 42mph on the paved street sudden there is a pothole incoming. It's kinda hard avoidable in high speed. Again, I work at UPS preload shift meaning 3AM to 8AM. I wish invite you come down here in California and see yourself how bad roads are.

I would love buy a Stealth bomber however their price tag probhit and I am not rich guy.

Thanks anyways! :)

How is the battery pack "inserted" in the center frame? As it looks like its fully enclosed all around.
Are those horizontal braces removable on one side using screws?
Nice side covers, the old-fashioned thinking of making an ebike to still look like a bicycle is passé, with this design, people will start realizing that ebikes are not just bicycles.
Full suspension is a must and if you use chromoly steel instead of aluminimun - will surely make your frame a top seller.

Hi there ,

I am very interested in the outcome of this development. I've had more than 4+ years of FEA stress analysis and low cycle fatigue using ANSYS so if you need someone to do some FE analysis let me know.

Hi Max,

How's it going over there with the frame?

you will probably go nuts when you read this but would it be possible to make the front forks suitable for a high torque motor such as the magic pie with external controller ? Suspension fork would be perfect and a must for stability.

After looking at the pics again and again I think 2 motors would look really cool!

Can someone give range on a 60v 30ah battery in the proposed 24in. Wheel, looks like we have an a2b big dummy mix going here.

Which battery chemistry (or IR?)
Which motor?
What Speed?
What incline?
What headwind?
What rolling resistance on your tires?
Drag Coefficient in your preferred seating position?
How aggressive are you on the throttle?

Answer those - none of which are dependant on the frame or size of the wheel - and you can estimate range with accuracy. If it is 30ah Pb, then you can only discharge 50%, but LiFePO4 80%, so right now we don'e even know how many watt hours you get out of the pack. Assuming Lithium to 80% DOD, the pack has 1800wh and you get 1440 usable. I ballpark 40whm for my duty cycle with hubbies, so I'd get about 36 miles from such a pack.

YMMV, but the frame and wheel diameter are not significant variables in calculating range.

Max, I would be interested, but not without a full suspension. Am I wrong, or does this frame have rear suspension?

It seems like it would be a lot less trouble to just import some of these frames direct from China. They seem to have everything we are looking for. Seeing as they are already in production, they might be cheap.

Maxwell...

I see some impracticalities with your battery arrangements. You have shown in the images both the Headaways and 'Thundersky' type packs.

The problem being that there is very limited room to work on connecting cells together (especially in the eclosure behind the seat). There is also no detail on how your planning on holding those cells firmly in place, so they don't short out against the frame. There is also no detail on controller mounts or mounting anything else, such as a BMS if your using large format cells. The frame itself is overly complex.

You need to make one of these, ride it, re-design it, and then build another, ride it and tweak it untill it's as good as it can be. Then you will be ready to start marketing them.

I agree with Willow because of the space required to connect everything also so things don't get shorted and wires don't get pinched allot of things have to be thought out i like the space idea in general so it can accommodate a large battery pack Max i think you have a winner after you work out a few minor details and testing the frame with some popular motors used on here cause some would like to commute with more speed and more torque and maybe more powerful motors question is would the dropouts hold up we wont know without so some real testing
