I'd guess that depends on whether the CroMotor will be back in stock before the 54xx arrives. Shipping for my first CroMotor was estimated at 14-21 days. :| Patience and foresight has always been required to get the high-end stuff.

Yep... patience, patience, patience
Then your reward for being so patient is paying high prices and being the guinea for all the bugs and problems

BUT -> Then you get to be that Gangster who is laying down rubber with the 50kw hub motor on the expressway... envy of ebike geeks the world round.

Woohoooo !!!! I established a comm link.

long story short my pc died and i'v been holding on a pic since 23.11.2011 of the longer axle but couldnt post it, week+ ago got a laptop with ubuntu and couldnt connect it to the net since i got it, today finaly worked it out !

got swamped lately by some domestic BS again, and they started rolling and rolling and turned into a giant snowball which hit me in da face, i was trying to duck it but in vain, if there's a snowball flying at your face you'r IT.

i had to unload this F'ing snowball on some one, tried to pass it on my sister but it stuck to me like glue.
now thinking what's favoureable - to get one HUGE snowball in your face or to be hit in the face with plenty snowballs, but smal.

hopefuly no snowballs be flying in my face tonight and i'l finaly post that pic.

i guess this is an example from some 150mm axle but with a different motor, kenney confirmed by sending this pic that he is on the same page with us.

i think those silvery axles were on HS3540 series. (were there HS HT for 150mm frames?)

Re: Crystalyte 5404 / 5403 UPGRADED! LAST CALL

Just heard from Ilia at ebikessf about his order of 5404's. I was hoping he got an earlier order in and I could sneak one away from him ahead of our shipment but looks like he's on the same production run.

Anyway, he shared that production of the 40mm motors was "delayed due to some (unknown) reason, Kenny said they will be manufactured and shipped after Chinese NY [Jan 23], delivery will probably happen around March."

Anyone have any more details?

I didn't know Ilia was getting any, he must have piggy backed on our order! That's good news for people that missed out on this group buy - there may be hope for you to get one of these motors afterall.

I just heard from Kenny and got the same story

"not available because the materials shortage during the time. It will take time to process it for the Chinese New Year coming soon. I will ready the all motors at 10th Feb. ( The holidays to much time for process the order )"

Half my motors are ready apparently but the others aren't. Kenny offered to send those which are done now and the rest later but it's not worth the added expense of the extra shipping fees it'd cost. So the waiting game continues.

ugg. o well, price you pay.
Makes you think though; i know these had to be manufactured and stuff, but didn't the cromotor guys come through with shipping in like 10 days from croatia to NA? If only those guys were in charge of the crystalyte plant...

You can order samples from Kenny and get them in only a few days - but that is air shipping ($120+ each) and high motor prices. If you want reasonable prices and reasonable shipping you get in the queue. Loyal customers get their orders filled first, then one-off's like you guys.

We had an order delayed so long earlier this year that we totally missed the ebike season. Months, and months, and months, and...... :|

Yep, that is the reality of ordering Custom-Made products from China. This is not a ready-made item we can just pluck off the end of the supply chain. I hope that everyone keeps that expectation in mind if Kenny starts to yank us around with repeated delays; we pay for these motors with patience, just as much as dollars. Max/Wojtek/Hyena are not making a profit here, so if "China Happens", lets not make them pay with our frustation, or requests for frequent status updates (which the manufacturer would fabricate). If we are lucky, it will happen eventually, and not a moment before.

The all-arounder: 8T MAC motor on a Trek 4500.
The new all-arounder: Bafang BBS02 on a Turner O2 full suspension.
The wheelie machine: 20" Rear Magic Pie II on a Trek 4300 MTB
The Bus: ??? on a 'da bomb' cargo bike frame

Pro-tips for noobs: Charge RC Lipos to 4.15v, stop discharging at 3.5-3.6v | Use torque plates/arms! | Rear mounted hubs are always best
