OK the motors are ready to ship, apparently he's just waiting on 24" rims which have been out of stock since before xmas. How it takes more than 2 months to get these is beyond me...
He said if I have them laced to 26" rims instead he can do that straight away and get them off in the next few days.
I'm sick of waiting so I'm happy to settle for a 26" wheel for now, I can get it relaced later if needs be.
Hobbit and Oldhaq you guys also had 24" requests - do you want to go with 26" or would you rather bare motors and chase up your own rims locally ?
Let me know asap so I can get this order on the high seas.

I read an article yesterday that said 24inch rims are totally illegal in Australia now. Deadset. If you guys don't agree to get this goddamn snake filled plane off the runway (I realise it is a boat, f&ck you) without your 24 inch rims, I will cut you, and I will report you and your 24 inch illegal rims to the police. Just do what the crazy Chinese hubmaker says, and accept a 26 inch rim for gods sake.

They only left just this week so I guess around 6 weeks ? Once they hit our shores I'll know they're only a few days off getting through customs etc.

Now, the next issue - collecting it all from the dock. Anyone in Sydney got a small truck or big van I can borrow ?! There'a 3-4 cubic metres worth and I don't think my little box trailer is going to cut it...

I have picked up a few loads at the doc....

The first time I made a spreadsheet that took the individual hub box dimensions and solved the "nap sack problem" by finding the smallest rental truck that would perfectly fit all the boxes (by computing every different way of stacking them)

The second time I just ordered the largest truck

hmmm... gas is super expensive - but if you show up acting like an amateur (with too small of a truck) the guys at the warehouse will eat you alive. I would not consider taking two trips... get it all at once or bust. Things get "lost" pretty easy around there. If I had to do it in 2 or 3 loads I would take it all from the warehouse and stack it on the side of the road. Leave a buddy there to watch and make your trips.

Definately man, 2 trips back and forth is a massive pain in the arse and not something I'd consider. Last night ripperton (of TTXGP fame) rang me and said he has a van we can use. Hobbit if you have one too that'd be perfect, we should be easily able to easily fit the lot between 2 vans. The quoted size is 4 cubic metres but I think it'd probably be less than that. There's 20 26" laced motors and a few smaller boxes of sundries (controllers, throttles etc) + 2 or 3 boxes of bare motors which are pretty small so that shouldn't be a drama. Last time everything fitted into a single large van but I had less motors that time and I didn't pay attention to exactly how much room they took up because someone else delivered it for me.

Methy do you know what size the boxes are ? I haven't actually had the crystalyte boxed ones before but I imagine they're the same as the 9Cs given the motors are essentially the same physical size. 63x63x25cm ?

Actually hobbit can you measure the available cargo space in your van ? We might even be able to get away with that alone which would be ideal given you only live around the corner from me.
We could stand the boxes up 5 wide x 2 deep x 2 high (1.25m x 1.3m x 1.3m) or some other longer configuration if that doesn't fit.

Actually they are a total f'ing nightmare.
First off, the new boxes are 27" x 27" x 10" (instead of the 9C 25x25x10) so shipping costs more (volume pricing). Then instead of using the nice molded foam inserts he just packs them with the shittiest Chinese-chicken foam you can buy. Shit gets everywhere and never packs up the same.... Then he packs two hubs to a box - so you end up with HUGE boxes that each have two boxes inside.... Makes them harder to move, then you have to unpack them all, then you are sitting on a truckload of cardboard (sigh...)

Maybe he has cleaned up his act by now. The bare motors ship real nice two to a box. His laced motor solution was a mess though on my last shipment.

They do come with snazzy bags though....

Box marking was real bad on my last shipment. None of the HS3540's were marked on the outside but we finally discovered an R25 on the HT3525 motors.

It's 1.37 tall towards the centre, a good metre wide is just taller so even at 27 inches we should still be able to double stack 'em, mostly. Lucas heights ( local garbage dump ) takes cardboard away for free and an application of acetone does wonders for "excess shittiest Chinese-chicken foam problems"

If its a double stacked pallet with, say, a 10cm tall pallet then it will be 10cm too tall to mash into my little baby... But hand loading ?, not a problem. I worked 9 to 5 for a fair few years delivery driving appliances. It'll just be a big real world game of tetris. The "fun" part will be back at hyena industries global headquarters aka jay's garage. Dozens of boxes to bust open, figure out who's it is, figure out how it gets to 'em..... Go, Mr Asia!!!

You got the wing and side doors, i was gonna get the iload with barn doors for a solar contract so could load a euro pallett straight in, but got a company triton intead, you guys gonna need some wets after shifting that lot, .

If I can get all the customs stuff sorted in time it should be ready for collection by thursday but I'd say with the easter long weekend rapidly approaching it's going to be next week.
