Brilliant idea Scriewy  ,that would make all the motors universal use for either 150mm or 135mm.That would enhance the resale value of the motor too.
It would be easier for kenny to make them all the same (won't have to think so much and count :D ) He should like that for the short product run.
I called Max and he loves the idea too.....
Is everyone else OK with this?

I love that idea!

More exposed axle is always better. It would help protect the wires coming out of the motor, give a passenger something to stand on, help you mount assorted racks, give you ample thread area for stupid thick torque plates...

+1
Be simple enough to finish the length yourself to your own needs... and if the ordering process is eased... :D
I ordered the 135mm and am now thinking the longer option is much smarter... be surprised if most (if not all)
short orders might be regretted if not changed...? ... I'm in :!:

damm did i just miss the order? a real shame, it would be nice if they opened some sort of dropshipper program to us hardcore ebike enthusiasts here at endless sphere im not as familiar with this motor as with 9c or macs but it seems everyone has incredible things to say about them, about how much juice would be required to take this thing over 45mph? any way to still get in on this action? stuff always comes up this thanksgiving / black friday week totally forgot to check this thread :(

Good God man, this thread has been up for 3-4 months, you first posted on it in August, the past two months we have been crying for more buyers to make the deal happen, the deadline has been extended twice, on 11/17 you posted "is the final day to pay still the 21st to get in on this deal?", and NOW you are suprised you missed it? :?

Seriously?

The rest of us on the group buy could have used your buy-in while the deal was being negotiated, but you weren't there for us. In this hobby, you often have to identify the good stuff from imcomplete information, pay months in advance, hope the deal goes through, and hope it does what you want when you get it. Sitting on the fence will leave you, well, sitting on the fence. I'm sure you can buy one at a serious markup after they are delivered. :D

wow douchebag a simple no would of done just fine, but thanks for all the attitude and need to tell me all that about me, anyone would of guessed youd be in a much happier mood after getting a great deal but thats just not the case im guessing, everyone has a life outside of this forum and external situations, if you really must know i was more consumed with another different where i was defrauded $800 and had been keeping up more on that, thanks for looking into how early on id pledged support real creepy ud go thru all that.. i was tuned in last week but classes dont give me much time to stray outside of school this semester, this also tends to be the busiest time of year for many of us not just me, i dont know what you mean about sitting on the fence i had shown interest since early on but until recently nothing much was very official, these sort of threads happen all the time here and in other forums and many times stay at that so i cant just run with each one besides the fact not everyone sits on $4-500 to wire and wait to see what happens, not all of us have all day to spend in here its alot of information that someone needs to learn on any motor, besides the desheng problem i encountered on my newest motor which took up some time, i havent had the chance to spend a whole lot of time on the sphere recently, im glad you got your order thanks for rubbing your great deal in yea im sure alot of us did miss it if you also want to look into and issue out your unnecessary opinions to everyone else who wasnt able to get into the final cut

I would echo Oatnets comment. We were practically begging people to get their order in, then Johnny-come-lately pipes in with, "shucks, how did I miss this" type comments. Annoying....really.

It was easy, considering I remembered him posting earlier in the thread. I see you are new so you might not be aware of the basic tools of the forum. In this case, click on the user id, choose 'search user's posts', type in 5404, and whammo you have data in about 15 seconds. This is an easy way to search for answers on technical questions, and a skill all newbies need to acquire if they want to succeed in this hobby.

darlington wrote:besides the fact not everyone sits on $4-500 to wire and wait to see what happen

Yet you seem blithely unaware that I just told you that is EXACTLY what it takes to buy a Custom-Made motor. In fact, that is what Max's first post says it takes to participate. In fact, now that the order is in, we STILL have a few months to wait for the motors to be built, shipped to the US, and then shipped to us.

Getting enough participation to pull off this deal was a near thing, you didn't do your part to help out, and then you whine about the deadline, when you clearly, recently, knew when it was? If you want something off the shelf, there are plenty of commodity motors waiting for you to buy RIGHT NOW at local dealers. If you want something esoteric like this, you have to help out with the process of getting it custom-made.

darlington wrote:and issue out your unnecessary opinions

Well it's not like you wrote Max to find out where to send your money, you posted the discussion thread instead (which I doubt he tracks), what did you expect but opinions?

glad you guys liked the idea.

i think kenny will like every extra order, if the train left the station it is accelerating very slowly because of all the motors loaded onto it.
you can pull up your skirts and run with the money in hand (500$ is light) and still get on it.
i still see the train in the horizon.

there was no need to follow this thread frequently, just put the funds where your mouth is and wait, it's not like the money's going anywhere. (said in neutral tone)
i had to perform some nasty things in the nights for a quick buck (which i rather not discuss about) just to get and put my money upfront.

what i still wonder is, if this is i limited run, what about spare parts ?

will kenny make some spares and stock at his place, or my bike gets mawed by a tank, breaks a side cover and i'm done ?

the motors are tough, but shit happens.

i'd very much like to posses a motor shell, though not sure if i can afford it, just an idea for you guys.
for kenny its just more orders, so he'll be happy.

Yes, that is why people ordered spare motors. You could probably get a replacement side cover milled locally, though.

did any 1 asked kenny if he's willing to make parts by order, it's pretty costly to get a complete motor for "just in case" when on limited funds, while stator and axle last long, the outer shell is 1st to get hit and is usualy 30-40% of total cost which is more affordable.

lol with thedarlington, you're such a creeP oatnet

thedarlington maybe you can still pay, look for maxwels paypal, i think he wrote it in many threads of his, i just don't remember where.

push him the money, like i did to an ebayer 5 times and he kept refunding me because he didn't wanna send the 3 jaw gear puller to my unverified something.

Sure. We are about 1 month into the standard 2-3 month wait that we were advised of prior to our purchase.

Hi,
are all these motors sold out and booked. i was really hoping to get hold of one if anyone has ordered more than one and wishes to sell.
or is there still a way of me adding to the order?

I'm in the U.K but missed the europe order so have been directed here.

thanks

you might get lucky and have someone pull out (like I did) but at this stage I'd say its unlikely... in any case keep your eyes open, there seems to be 1 or 2 group buys of motors a year (well, in the last year...) so you may not have to wait too long. Alternatively look at cromotors

Ive got my fingers crossed. I've contacted max to see if there's anything he can do..
I am quite impressed with Cromotors but was a little disappointed when the new one only tested out at 9k not 13.
it looks like the 5403 is the baby to have, i mean if a stealth has one then thats the standard really ;)
