Thanks very much for the appeciation :)

While testing out boards for some orders recently, I made this short clip showing how the sensors are affected differently by flourescent and incandecent light.

I'm working on adapting the burtie board to an Astro 3210, using a MKII-LYEN EDITION-12 FET 3077 MOSFET controller. Battery will be 44V LiPo.

I used a polycarbonate plastic washer that I made as a spacer for the washer that the black and white timing image is mounted to, and glued it all together with JB weld. My motor did not have a balancing blob, or if it did it is gone now, so I didn't need to worry about clearance for that. Hopefully balance will be ok. I used a punch to reduce the ID of the washer rather than using tape to fill the slight gap. I'm working on wiring it all up now. I'll post pictures and stuff when I have something working.

Started a new thread to document the build: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=39035

Would be great to see your work Warren.

New thread might be best to document your project. These threads in the sale section are a bit temporary and dissappear if not regularly used.

Edit:
Warrens thread is here

Burtie,
Are these back in stock? I'd love to order one or more if so.
1st build: Dahon Jetstream folding bike. Quick, reliable, capable of 30mph. Light enough to lift, folds for easy transport by car/bus/train.
2nd build: RC powered 2009 Norco A-Line. Top speed 31mph. Built like a tank, it's resistant to Boston potholes, can stop on a dime, easily goes up/down curbs when necessary.
3rd build (just started): Scratch build ultimate utility bike.

Hi Burtie,

What is the sensor IC you have used on these?

Thanks!

Burtie, ever thought of adapting these to the turnigy 50CC rotomax? seems like a good motor..

The all-arounder: 8T MAC motor on a Trek 4500.
The girlfriend bike: 350W front MAC on a 700c Trek.
The wheelie machine: 20" Rear Magic Pie II on a Trek 4300 MTB
The Bus: ??? on a 'da bomb' cargo bike frame

Pro-tips for noobs: Avoid BMS Battery like the plague | Charge RC Lipos to 4.15v, stop discharging at 3.5-3.6v | Use torque plates/arms! | Rear mounted hubs are always best

They are Omron IR reflective transmitter/receivers with a built in amplifier and schmitt trigger.

No adaptation required, just download the appropriate encoder image (from post #2) for the correct number of magnets, laser print it the correct size.

Got mine working on a lyen tester today. but i botched the soldering first time round then had to jumper the traces (very annoyed with myself).

Wierd thing was it was not working till i used a 9v battery as the source. Seems perhaps like the 5v line might not be enough to power this but

i should say ive not tried it with a controller yet. Thanks Burtie for the advice too. using a simple voltmeter was a better diagnostic than the

lyen tester. Found out through using one that id buggered up two of my soldering joints. Partly due to the fact that it didnt work with the lyen tester

on its own output so i desoldered the connector which lifted the trace (knew it would, did it anyway )
