Almost bought a kit, but shipping was 406$.
From goldenmotor.com shipping seems to be 135$ for simmilar goods.
Is this correct?

Again, Speak to Gary at GM canada. Do not buy from China! Gary will rectify any parts and warranty issues, China will not! I know from experience. I have dealt with both and would now only ever buy GM parts direct from Gary and nowhere else.

If I had to fathom a guess..

After everything is said and done, do the two prices eventually equal up?

As an example using fake numbers...

Items from one site end up like this....
$300 for items and $406 for shipping which equals $706.

And the same items from the other site end up like this....
$570 for items and $136 for shipping which ALSO equals $706?

As far as i know Gary always matches the the China Prices. That is, the prices advertised by China including shipping will match Gary's prices which include shipping. The shipping cost is always added on by GM Canada whether you like it or not as this equals the China price, but you do have the comfort that he will sort out problems and honour warranty. This is my personal experience. GM equipment is good value for money but you sometimes have to tinker a little to get thing perfect. The kits are perfect for beginners as they arr easy to set up. the magic pie pie is a very robust well engineered direct drive motor. the weak link in the chain has always been the controllers which has been limiting with current and the adjustability of them is a gimic. The MP3 - magic pie 3 is about to be released and from Gary's recent testing on it they have sorted out the amp issues in the new internal controllers which have also been designed to be easily replaceable if failure occurs.
I've been tinkering with GM products over the past year and have tried dual pies, dual 250w mini motors, single mini, single pie. I'm currently doing a build with just an external controller pie where i've swapped for a LYENS controller and have a 84v lithium ion pack at the ready. The Pie will take a lot of abuse.

EXACTLY my point.

And yeah, the controllers are pretty much crap..

Ive had 5 of them and they all crap out in less than a year..
Too many issues with 'em. (when they WERE working, they worked exactly as stated)..
P.S. I've had the same controller (36v 20a) from a no name place that's performed perfectly for over 3 years...

I had a feeling you thought you were gonna get it cheaper from Gary then China...
If that was so, he wouldn't make good money on it..
That's how it works..

IF he just priced to what he paid (including the average shipping via boat to him) and added his own fee and then charged for the actual shipping, It would probably be cheaper to you and me, but he would make less..

Not really good for business.
(But neither is using his own products to make his own bike!).
LOL.

P.S. It's probably GM china telling him to keep the prices the same as a part of being a reseller, but who knows...

You COULD just buy a bunch of items from GM china, have it shipped via boat and get it cheaper, but then you have to wait weeks and weeks and if there is any duds in there, then you'd have to ship back, etc, etc..
That's the "value added cost" that Gary gives you when you buy from him.. The ability to warranty items back to him and get replacements quicker and cheaper for you to ship back to him, rather than China.

Times have changed, I now stock almost everything and shipping can be calculated in the cart by clicking "Get Shipping Estimate" and entering your postal code. I now only charge the actual shipping from me to you plus a small handling fee included to cover getting the items to me from china in sea orders.

The reality is if you are in North America it is far less money to buy from me and my warranty actually means something.
