I would be perfectly happy to send the new V3 swingarm jigs and machined/ bent/ laser cut partst o somebody who has a welder and some time, its the welding that takes 75% of the time. I can machine and bend the pieces for ten swingarms in an 8 hour day. But it takes 2-3 hours to weld and straighten each swingarm.

Good for you Farfle!

The one I bought from you is really working out nice.

I hope you thought about upping the price a bit....

You're quite the salesman. Do you plan to do the welding? ;)

Whatever price you paid seems fair enough?

The reason I kept the price low this round is for a few reasons. First, I have finally settled on a good CNC shop, so I get small parts on a predictable time frame. Secondly, I want to hit a price point. For $350 I want to build a good semi-stretch FS frame with built in dropouts. lemme do a quick interest check, Would there be any interest in a few semi-assembled kit bikes? Something like a DIY package with a genesis frame, a decent headset, maybe a budget front suspension fork?

I think there would be interest if you can discount below the shipping costs & what someone can get locally.

The main thing you have going for you is your custom fab work and reasonable prices. I'd say there would be a hell of a lot more interest in a custom cromoly frame you could offer too. Long wheelbase & Surly fat tire could be awesome too. Motor mount like LFP has or in swing arm.

Definitely doing a SwingArm designed to take some hub/geared motor like JohnCR or a Mac geared belt/chain drive would be awesome too. Don't price yourself high imo. Plenty of rich guys can buy other stuff, but it's much harder for us lower budget guys to afford stuff. We don't need another high-end guy hocking wares on ES that are too pricey for most. Imo. Most ES members don't have a lot of money. You're young & can still afford to gain a whole hell-of-va lot more experience making things for less $. Later on, you can make "real money" if you are so motivated, or when you have your own family to support. ES is more fun hobby and not a business. Start small, price low, grow to gain a lot of experience 1st.

I'd definitely be interested in a tough steel frame at that price point, given that it has battery space.
That would be the holy grail for eBikes.

Pro-tips for noobs: Avoid BMS Battery like the plague | Charge RC Lipos to 4.15v, stop discharging at 3.5-3.6v | Use torque plates/arms! | Rear mounted hubs are always best

i'm confused. are you going to build a frame (ie one to fit batts) or use the genesis? i think you mean swingarm, headset, fork for $350 + genesis donor?

either way, i love your swingarm! if i'd have kept the cromo, this would have been a no brainer platform, esp w/ smaller wheels. i'm not in love with the look but the price/performance is impossible to argue with. i'd prefer more of a stealth geometry, but i've never tried that rear suspension style. $140 is a gift of a price.

how's chainring/pedal clearance with the smaller wheels?

Ok, seeing what everybody has said so far, ill post up a tentative cad doodle of what a frame will look like, and we can modify it from there.

+1 Strong frame & swingarm + battery space. This seems to be the unfilled need in the market. Although, I imagine most would want to choose their own forks according to their budget, setup, power level & intended use. I mean, a quality yet budget fork would be likely to be swapped out by a lot of people anyway, and increase your parts and shipping costs. My 2c.
