BBS01 compatible battery 36v 10.5ah underseat batt (global)

Post by Samd » May 18, 2015 2:12 am

EDIT: had a new batch made in 18650GA for the upcoming aussie summer, different cell choice to last year's batch, so am updating this old ad.
*******************************************************************************
I have had these made in order to develop the ultimate carbon city commuter, but will be selling the packs seperately.
10 series x 3 Sanyo 18650GA cells in parallel capable of 25 amps cts. BMS included. Bad idea to push past 10a per cell for any appreciable time.
Pack is approx 165mm long by 75mm deep and 70mm tall. Fits in most underseat bags, add a BBS01 drive for sneaky urban commuting.

With the BBS01 taking about 10 watthours per km with good pedalling, you should expect about a 30km range for average terrain. Not a big battery/range but that's the whole point with this particular product.

Price is $280AUD plus shipping at cost. Add a 2a charger for $30. Underseat bag to match $18.
If you are in the USA or UK I can get these made and sent direct, pm me.

Picked up today from mailroom - what an absolute little gem this battery is. Nice work Sam.

To give the guys on the forum an indication of the range and size in a real life situation - I've just used 5.37aH for 14km/h of full assist (15A) / full throttle (up to 25A) hilly (10-15% grade for most of the ride) and headwind (about 10kmh) riding with WTB velociraptors and not much pedalling on tarmac path with a binding front brake. Voltage sag was no issue for me at these extreme values. Average speed was 30km/h.

The bag is high quality as are the Anderson terminations and all up it makes for a stealthy machine. Much better than the original bottle battery I had all those years ago and lighter and less bulky than the Ping I used to have too.

Thanks Sam, I can now sell this as a complete ebike and move onto the next build

One year on-the Sam’s 10s3p is still doing a great job for the owner of my old bbs01 reign. No loss of capacity apparent either.
