Yep, most motors are using either 10K NTC (best) or linear thermistor like KTY. The are super simple to connect - just need to run one wire to the dashboard while the other end is using the common ground. Clyte must have gone against the mainstream by using a sensor with dedicated power. It should still work if you just run the signal wire but you need to know the type of the thermistor and do some extra calibration. It can work, just more hassle to pair it with existing dashboards.

It's a crystalyte crown tc3080. Thanks for the link ordered and will be to me tomorrow. Seems like the easiest option even for the CA setup.

Hmm, MXUS must have switched to a three leg thermistor. The quickest thing to make it work is just swap it with a 10K NTC thermistor.
Wire one leg to the ground and the other one to the Bluetooth temp input. Done.

This type will provide the best precision:

Thanks for the great info. I'm def going with the 10k ntc. Seems most places advertise crown motors with 10k ntc. Not the case with my motor and now I can tell the difference. Will be nice having the power velocity controller displaying motor temp in Fahrenheit which I can relate to better than Celsius.

Celsius, Fahrenheit, miles, km - everything is supported and switchable in the app from day one.

More on the app, BT module, what it can do and how to use it is here:

Truly amazing controller. With all the info available from Powervelocity.com and this forum, setup and adjustment were a breeze. It's an amazing piece of tech. Way more user friendly and reliable than other expensive and over hyped controllers out there. Very powerful right out of the box.

Do you have a WATERPROOF and compact version for 60v 40A power?

I'd also need waterproof throttle and regen throttle as complete kit.

Thank you

All controllers are IP65 protected. That means they will sustain any water/moisture exposure excluding full immersion. So, mounting externally and exposing it to the rain is not a problem as long as connectors are protected from moisture.

This applies also to most hall sensor throttles but if you want more protection, IP67 conforming Domino throttle is a good choice.

Hey PowerVelocity, does the IP65 rating include the 24FEt controllers in the new larger case?, Thanks

Not by default.
24F have bolt on connectors for battery and phases, so, ideally, need to be mounted somewhere where water can't get on them.

Hello,

So sorry if this question has been answered before.

I'm planning to run 18F version sensorless (as my hub motor is now w/o hall sensor)

Will the App on iphone be able to pick up / read the speed and rpm?

If not, if I connect this to cycle analyst, will it be able to pick up / read the speed and rpm?

many thanks for your help on this!

Neither CA nor any other dashboard device can pick up speed from nothing, so it will need some kind of a sensor. If you are not using motor hall sensors, the easiest solution is to install a sensor on your rear or front wheel with a magnet fixed to a spoke. I can provide this.

Then the app/BT module and/or CA will be able pick up RPMs/speed.

I purchased the 18F + BT controller. Unfortunately, after plugging everything in I am not seeing the controller listed in the PowerVelocity App in either the Programmer or Settings views. I did plug in a CA and verified that I am getting power.

Anyone have some suggestions on how to connect the controller to the app. Im using a iPhone 6s plus with the latest iOS 11.2.6 (15D100)

Thanks!

The controller will be visible once you turn on the ignition. Have you done that?
Also, make sure the Bluetooth on the phone is turned on.
Then go to Settings - Manage. You should be able to see "PowerVeloCity-i" in the list of Bluetooth devices.

Yes, I wired up a key ignition. When turning the key, the CA turned on which I used to verify that the controller is powered on. Bluetooth on my phone is turned on. However, I am not seeing "PowerVeloCity-i" listed.

I appreciate your support Vad!

I bet these questions have been asked before but after scanning a number of pages i cannot find the answers...

1. Have these controllers been tested with any mid-drive motors?
2. Is it possible to get a square wave version of the 18fet with blue tooth?

1. Yes
2. and Yes

The only thing is that the middrive needs to be lower pole count (up to 8 poles ideally) and lower KV (probably up to 50kv the most) to work well. We have good success using controllers with LightningRods middrive kits (https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewt ... start=4850)

The dual mode controller version will run square wave if you disconnect sensors (sensorless mode).

Hello Powervelocity,

I would like to buy one of your 12F controller (the one that include the dual mode), however shipping to France is not possible on your website.
Could you please let me know how to proceed ?
I am planning to run it on a magic pie 4 with 22s8p battery pack. Will it work properly?

Thanks.

Good morning,
I have the 12FET controller with the bluetooth programming but I am experiencing a few problems with the software. I am using android and I have paired the controller without a problem, I launch the app and set the type to F12-100 and it says ready to program, I hit read and the app just hangs and then times out, I know its probably something very simple that I am missing but any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Paul

Please make sure to download the latest version of the app from the Google Play store. Make sure your phone is connected to the internet. Open the app and go to the Settings and Maanage to connect to the controller (it needs to be on). Go back to Settings and wait 20 seconds or so. It will prompt to update the module firmware if you have not updated it yet. Update the module firmware if prompted.

Then go to the Programmer and try to Read again.
