Tesla in Sydney

Noticed today they are finishing off the Tesla showroom/service centre in Sydney.
Herbert road, Artarmon ( was previously the Northshore Holden dealer site ?.ironic!)
I guess we can expect a few Mod S's cruising around Mosman now !
I wonder if they will take me for a potential buyer and let me loose in one ? :lol:
Well , at $140k basic for the 85P, I'm not about to give Santa the nod this year.!

Tesla website for Australia also lists dozens of employment opportunities in Sydney and Melbourne !

this would be an opportunity for someone with some good technical skills to see if they could get on there as mechanics or diagnostic technicians to support Tesla locally.

so if there are locals who do have a grasp of these technical things, spend some time studying up on electronics and learn all you can about Tesla and go apply for an interview. would be a good place to start.

Seems to be a fair bit of negativity from media about it's launch, talks of a surge on the grid if people charge up their car at the same time, not an expert but I doubt the draw would be more than a fridge kicking in, but that may depend on the rate of charge wanted, I hope it does well and open some minds

Finally caught sight of one actually on the road yesterday !
Too far from the showroom to be the test drive car
Dark blue P85 doing the school run (or maybe hairdresser visit ?), on Sydney Road, Manly.... being driven by a typical Northern Beaches MILF.....very steadily.
I tried to goad her into a drag from the lights, ..but i guess my diesel Ford had her worried :lol:
