Hey Papo
thanks for posting the close up pictures. I see that you have a threaded shaft on the motor that holds the small gear. Can you give me the specks on the shaft and where did you get the shaft from? My motor came with a 10mm shaft and was wondering how easy to change the shaft on these motors? I see a cotter pin holding the shaft in place is this all I have to remove to change the shaft?
thanks!

Thanks for the ebay link!
I have been thinking of running a belt drive since that is what I already have on my skateboard and I assume it is more quiet. It has 44 "teeth" on the wheel side and I am thinking about using one of these gears using the Shaftloc system but not sure how many teeth I should put with the C6354-250KV outrunner motor. With the Shaftloc system I can just add the gear right on to the motor shaft (10mm):

Cheers!

btw the gear on the 400W (450W?) brushed motor has 19 teeth so I guess I should have less than this with the above brushless motor? I"m not sure how the brushed motor compares with the C6354-250 out runner?

Hi,
Thanks for posting. Your board looks sick. Did you make or buy the cog for the drive wheel? If you bought it, would you please share the source?
Thanks.

How does the motor on the back-wheel work out?
I'm not sure that a fixed 2-wheel with a single motor would make the turning lopsided in a way.
I'm visualizing the the front of the fuzion scooter, http://fuzionscooter.com/.

Just trying to figure out the different parts I would hypothetically need to make a (freewheel) kick scooter, since I'm not sure how it would work out with a fixed drive.

the fixed drive have a drag from the cogging,
I think I would like the wheel to freewheel.

are you thinking about powering that fuzion scooter?

I have the original one,
used to be called a QuadCarver.

Yeah, I'm thinking of just sticking a relatively low-power motor (still going to figure out the amps/volts) onto one of the front wheels of a razor-esqe type build (may or may not recycle pieces), except with the whole build being more of a tricycle (Two wheels front, one larger (or smaller, not sure how it would effect it yet) wheel in the back that's on a freehinge on an axle). Just need to figure out the general pieces and their functionality before I jump into anything I can't pull off.

EDIT: Man, I'm abusing parentheses.

Im attempting to do this very thing 1wd on a colt 95x mountain board, I have everything planned and the board in hand but am struggling to come up with a easy solution for mounting my motor. There are 2 threads in the rear trucks for the brake system, any ideas would be helpful, my only option of as now is n weld in a custom made motor mount plate like you did, but I am not sure how I can get this motor mount made. how can I easily and cheaply get this part manufactured? or is there a electric 15"-18" wide pre made mountain board truck?

those Cindrich decks are pretty crazy looking,
but IMO, aluminum does not make good skateboard decks..

he make cnc skate trucks also...

So does having a longer board stop death wobbles or something.

Always remember as a kid going down the steep hills and losing it.

Always enjoy the pics.

yes, longer wb usually means more stablity at speed,
but that's only part of it,
notice the "longboard' trucks, they are less prone to wobbles than the traditional design trucks.
rider skills matter also.

current dh speed record is over 80+mph

Hi guys! This is an awesome thread. It inspired me to build my own board last week. I am using the Mamba Monster ESC and a NTM 380kv 50x60mm motor rated at 90a with 5000mAh 6S lipo rated at 20C.

I am using a belt drive with timing pulleys and a simple aluminum motor mount very similar to Papa2110, but I can't weld so it is just bolted on for now. The pulley ratio is 16teeth on the motor and 50teeth on the 75mm wheel.

The thing REALLY moves and can accelerate so fast I've fallen off about 20 times. I will post some videos and pictures here shortly, I just got finished it about 24 hours ago.

Anyway, my motor stutters and is really loud when starting from a dead stop. I tried adjusting literally every option on the mamba monster with the programming software and still no luck. Would love some input from you guys so that I might make this thing work a bit better.

The only thing I can think of is that the "20C" rating of the battery won't provide enough current upon starting from a dead stop. BUT I don't have another battery to test on and would prefer not to spend the money if it isn't going to solve the problem.

Basically I just want it to be smooth so I can have my wife and friends ride it too without worrying and also as quite as possible.

Also if anyone has any suggestions please let me know, I am always looking for new ideas and builds :)

Thanks for your help. Have a great night.
