How are you guys ordering from HobbyKing? I'm on the West Coast US (warehouse).

I guess my question is, whats your experiences with them? Are you fellow n. americans just forking out the EU warehouse shipping cost?

Most of the 6374 SK3 motor I've looked on their website were backordered for a while. They still are as of today. The 149Kv and 213Kv are in stock as of 4/18/2015. I would expect restock to take only a week or two, but it seems like it takes 3 months to restock. I go US west cause $20+ shipping is a pain. Returns are also what I take into account if I do have to, but something I hope to not do.

Also I just got ignored right off their chat help--I wasn't even asking the retarded questions I do on this forum(sometimes worth ignoring), and I wasnt being rude or anything either. Do they not have a simple phone number or an email?--I can't find one. I'm starting to wondering why ES.com is so loyal to them--is there no decent competion? I guess if you know exactly what you want, and it's in stock, and you never need to talk to someone, they do the job I assume.

Everything else is 2-4 times the price. I don't have any issues with them.

You mean the mark-up, or literally 2-4x the price? If so, where?..I would love to see that, just for a laugh.

Turnigy 5000mAh 6S 20C Lipo Pack - $40.43 - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9176__Turnigy_5000mAh_6S_20C_Lipo_Pack.html
Other packs below are kind of better but we don't necessarily need the added power or quality.

I find the HK packs more then adequate.

2x 6S 5ah 20C packs for $80.86 for 12S 5ah 20C.

Torqueboards  At this level of packs I would recommend looking at the 4S 5000mAh from Turnigy, if I recall you end up paying around 60$ instead of 80$.

If you want to check Lipos from the same group as Venom, check SMC their 2S and 3S packs are ultra competitive! I mean for the capacity and quality of internal resistance, these ones are hard to beat. And the prices are somewhat the lowest from them.

I use to get the 4S Hardcase but the benefit of 12S is better IMO.

Turnigy 5000mah 4S 20C Hardcase packs for about $26/each = $52 for 8S 5ah
Turnigy 5000mAh 6S 20C Lipo Pack = $40.43 = $80.86 for 12S 5ah

8S 5ah = 148Wh
12S 5ah = 222Wh

With an average of 1 mile per 5Wh.

8S 5ah = 29.6 * .31 = 9.176 mile range
12S 5ah = 44.4 * .31 = 13.764 mile range.

I like the 12S option better :)

I've noticed some helicopter batteries that are 10c and 8ah

Would the 10c discharge rate be too low for eboards?

i just order a motor that had to be shipped from the international wearhouse used dhl and it took 3 days to reach, I am in NY was surprised really amazed that it was so short.

I run the 4s hardcase packs on my bike at 12s and its the cheapest option. They have those packs for $20 sometimes and you can always get buddy codes. At $23 each, their normal price at US West, that is $69 for 12s 5ah. You can't go wrong. Plus, I've had 6s packs lose one cell and they are that much more expensive to replace. I feel better knowing that if I ruin a battery, I only lost $25 or so. Nice that you can plug the 4s packs into each other to make a 12s battery and don't need a series wire. Saves the extra wiring. A parallel charging board makes charging the same no matter how many batteries you use. At least up to six.

Even when HK have them in stock, it will still take a lot of time before they ship it out. The motors I ordered last week has not even been shipped out. I'm seriously considering winding my own by the way the things are going.

I have only had two hiccups with hobbyking. Both times were with the US East warehouse and they fixed the problem. Now I try not to order from the US East warehouse, if I can help it.

Hobbyking sucks and I'll tell you why. Everything is rosy if you get your order and they ship it right. That will be most of the time. However, if you happen to be the 10-15% of screwed up, lost, or damaged items, be prepared for a headache!!! I used to order from them all the time, $200-$300 a month worth of RC items. It only took one time out of nearly 10 orders and I was done. Hobbyking shipped the wrong item to me and rather than exchange it for the correct item I ordered, the customer service rep told me to keep the wrong item because it cost more and call it even. Are you kidding me? After thousands of dollars spent on their site, that's the answer I get?

I haven't ordered from them for years. From hundreds of dollars a month to zero. And they don't care. If nothing goes wrong with your order, then all is good. However, you take your chances with their customer service.

fully agree. I used to be one of the first clients by looking at my customer ID of HobbyCity/HobbyKing. I spend huge amounts of money here when I was into RC models.. but I have to admit that the warehouse, and especially the european warehouse is just a bunch of problems if something goes from (item available, but then backorder in preparation)...

the two 6S lipos I ordered last week... was OK, but I got the shipping confirmation few days after...getting it delivered (which is fine).

It seems like the reason the USA west warehouse is mostly out of stock was I read they moved thier warehouse from the state of Washington to Oregon around tye month of February. I can confirm that Hobbying is one of those hit or miss place when ordering stuff. More like test your luck.

have had awesome experience...
cheap fast and generally fine quality...

I dont think ive ever recived someting i just too disapointed with... a couple mistaken things in part due to their lack of docuemntation ..but mostly my fault..
Their shipping times from interantional warehouse are on par with ebay and such... just rememeber to use paypal.. or the credit card verification can take anywhere between a couple hours and 10 days (seriously 10 days) so just use your paypal and it will be OK...

Their batteries are unghhh cheap... they will die for no reason at all once in a while... but as a general rule you can count on 100-200 recharge cycles... not too many more though...and I balance charge every single time and never ever ride under 3.0v (using a cell monitor)

the ntm motors last about the same as the tacons... (although properly geared to match)

as a general rule id recomend hobbyking...
