electric fishing reel

good Day to all, I am from Kenya a dn working in the design department of a Marina.

We have developed a fishing reel from a mobility scooter and now want to develop that further.

Can anybody fit in electrics help us with some details.

If we use a hubmotor: can we create regenerative energy on the downdrop of the wait??

what are the best hubmotors geared to make appr. 50 -200 revs

Yes, probably but not of any usable amount.. The weight will need to be very heavy otherwise the regen will stop it goingdown. What sort of depth water. Would need to be a big weight and hundereds of meters of depth to create any power. The regen is only of use to act as a brake to stop it decending too quickly
