I would guess they have the exact same performance curve. Golden's price went way up too. Many problems with them not delivering product in a timely fashion. I do kind of want them but your paying list price at this point so don't try to re-sell it. Also the regen controller looks neat but had mixed reviews and some fundamental flaws.

Worth a try maybe.

The front wheel on the chopper looks like a Nine Continents FH205 or similar to me.
Under construction: Giant DH Team, MAC Shanghai, Infineon 18 FET controller, 64v Headway battery. LINK!!

Retired: Kona Dawg Dually + Bomber Triple Clamp forks with Nine Continents front hub motor, 48v 10Ah Headway LiFePO4 Pack + 12v 10Ah Headway LiFePO4 booster pack (nominal 64v).

Powered by the sun :)

Dead: Jamis Dakar frame, Mongoose Pro Downhill frame, cooked Lipo booster pack....and various other bits and pieces...

This pic is from Don Grubee's website (http://www.grubeeinc.com). He claims his factory makes this motor.
It does seem to be a popular design, however, so it may be identical to other Chinese manufacturers.
btw ... the black motor is rated 36V 350W ... I run it at 80V and 30 amps and it is screaming fast and runs cool. Go Figure!

Very informative. These are the Bafang PMGR side by side with the DD motors I run now.

I run this DD motor at 72V and 30 amps. It is fast and powerful.
Heck I just put new sensors in this same motor and made a new wire harness.

This is the Bafang PMGR that Keywin can get.
The plan is to pump 72V and 30 amps thru this too.

Wonder if the Grubee motors freewheel through the gears, or a separate ramp-up bearing?

This geared motor design seems to becoming more popular, and probably more reliable.

I like this design and it's light weight.
Reliability is a big issue for those of us that use our Ebike daily. This is one of the main reasons for my purchase of a direct drive motor. And Maintenance free.

I'm curious about riding this motor for couple hours at a time, if the motor heats up, and endure daily use.

I like what i see, maybe Justin will pick these up for distribution next year at ebikes.ca.
Ebike in use:
LWB Recumbent bike, Sram i-9 internal gears.
Power supply: 58V, 16 amp/hr, lipo batteries.
max speed: 50 km/h (30 mph),
max range: 40 km's, incl stop&go few times, minimal pedaling.

Well I have them right now. Keywin and I are ironing out some minor kinks in our Anglo-Chinese financial business accounting system but soon we will have it wired so that orders are delivered within two weeks of initial paypal payments. In fact we are planning an expansion of our full product line so keep the inquiries coming in.

Posting in this forum is also essential as it is our goal to meet you every need.

Cheers

Knuckles,
Wonder if you are going get an Bafang motor yourself and compare it with your DD motor?
I am greatly interested in hearing the comparision result.

I've been waiting for month on other sites to get this kind of an answer! I though the windings were thicker sorta like the Crystals 404, 405, 406 and I was right. I'm still debating if I would put it in my recumbent's 20" front wheel that I'm building. It would make sense since the faster windings would work out on the smaller wheel. But, the Cyclone kit seems like the bomb for recumbents (high speed and torque, you can have your cake and eat it). So I just might keep this one on a 26" wheel and see was I get at 48volts. It's funny how you end up collecting these damn things. The baby barn's getting full of bikes and one's in the house on the main floor and I'm still scanning for more all the time. I believe everyone should be on electric bikes! They're great!

yea...i agree. that looks great. good job."
