Got this bag recently, took some photos, seems promising, appears to hold a lot of stuff. Originally thought I’d wait until I get the battery to put in it, but then decided to post the review anyway. Two pockets - regular (an EDC (Every Day Carry) pocket, as I like to call it) and a side pocket. Sturdy material, 3 14cm-wide velcro straps that hold the bag onto the frame. The following are my preliminary thoughts, as I haven’t got a chance to test the bag yet (waiting for Paul’s battery).

Things I like:

1. Zippers - metallic, overall, very nice, not much to say about zippers themselves, but read further.

2. Snappers - initially I wasn't that satisfied due to their poor performance. It was a user issue. After Chris's post, I re-routed the straps, and now they work better than snappers on my backpack. The McGyver photos are still there only because it might give ideas for other things.

3. Side pocket - you can probably fit a controller in it.

Things that could use improvement:

1. There is a pocket right underneath the upper front strap - don't know why it's there (looks like it's by design - maybe a vent), but it might present a problem during wet conditions.

2. Whatever the inner dimensions are, it may be difficult to fit a block battery inside, as the zippers only provide a 35cm opening. Perhaps lengthening the zipper sides further would be beneficial.

I’ll be replying to this thread with new development as I test the bag.

Nice review. How does the bag affect folding your Montague?

You'd need to undo the back straps, because they're holding (well, again, not really holding) the bag to the frame.

Hi Rollodo,
Thanks for the review. I think you have installed the rear straps incorrectly. They are actually very strong and the best we have tested out of many cam buckles. You have to come up from the back side with the strap through the middle hole, and then out through the clamp hole... One strap can easily bear the weight of even our largest batteries when hung (dead weight) from a single strap.

Also, to make it easier to flip your bag up when folding, just loosen the top 3 straps, undo the back two and one front, and it should rotate around the frame nicely. It is nice to hear feedback whether positive or negative since there is always room for product improvement. Thanks

Actually, you're right, it appears that I did install them incorrectly. I've since re-routed the strap and now it works much better. I've updated the original post.

Thanks for that, Chris.

The front access hole is to allow clean wiring on the production bikes for the throttle, brake cutoff, CA computer, etc. You can use industrial velcro and close it if you don't need it. Thanks

Do you think a battery 13×6×3.5 would fit in there...thanks

Here's the thing - technically, yes, since the interior dimensions are about 13" x 6" x 4.75". However, keep in mind that the opening of the main compartment is exactly 13" (attached). This means that because you're likely to be inserting your battery at an angle, the effective 'length' of your pack becomes longer.

You need to build a mock model of the battery (from a cardboard, for instance, as the one attached) to picture things better (never mind the pliers - the model kept falling; the pliers helped it stay in place).

Could you possibly make a simple video demonstrating what you are saying Chris?
