So now that my Chaos is operational, not quite right yet, but enough that i can ride it until the snow hits... I'm ready for the next project.

I have a nice big LiFePo4 48v 25ah monster battery in the mail, should arrive next week at my door !! ( somewhere between Florida and Moncton at the moment )

This battery will power an X5 nicely with it's 75 max amp controller !!!

I'm either going

1- Chopper

2- BMX

but i have access to all 4 ( single and dual speed ) and 5 series motors, i just need to make up my mind what to build.

Suggestions are welcome, any and all... fire away ! :p

Trying to look like their big brothers, bicycle choppers are just for show. Build something with unique soul, not common show. :D

xyster,

I hate to disagree, but a chopper is the way to go Y. :D

A comfortable riding position is just what you need to take advantage of that big 1200 watt pack. Even at 30watts per mile you'll get 40 miles from that pack without peddling.

Cheers,

Ian

Ja, a chop's big fat tyre is a plush ride BUT...

It might be time for an AWD winter BMX setup.

Gee, ChopperMan, I would have never figured you'd weigh-in in favor of the chopper. :D

geez u start a thread on AWD and now everyone wants to do it :p

lol

AWD chopper?

gotta ask though - what kinds of bikes are u into - what do you ALREADY have?

do u really need another bike? (maybe make a solar power recharging station insted / wind generator for recharging ur bikes?)

i'd love something crazy like this full fairing style bike - but in AWD with pumas:

I DO want a Puma, but given that i have 50 crystalyte motors in my spare bedroom i'd like to stick to what i have already ... got the entire selection

I have:

404 405 406 407 408 409 4011 4012
404-408 406-409 407-4011 408-4012
X5302 - 03 - 04 - 05

2 x Wavecrest TF frames ( red frames cruiser style )
1 x Schwinn OCC Stingray frame

Currently assembled:
Giant ATX 890 with front 407 in 26" wheel
Norco Chaos Dual-suspension with disk brakes on 72v 20ah Li 406/409 rear wheel 20"..

I've built a Folder before ( great bike, sold it ) so lets go something different.

So to make something different.. BMX - Chopper - Trike maybe? :p
Any Canadians with a KMX trike for sale by chance ?

I recently joined my brother and two of his friends for 30 miles of their Oregon coast ride. They went over 300 miles from Astoria to the California border. While the ride was great, the trike isn't very well suited for riding on the narrow edges of roads. So I am seriously considering putting together a real stealthy AWD two wheel semi-recumbent, possibly with a one-wheel Bob trailer. I think it would be cool to see what you would do with an AWD recumbent. Might work great on slick roads too.

I'd put a 5304 in the chopper frame. Should be able to do nice burnouts  Just for fun and showing off, not commuting.

That snow cycle looked interesting too. Need something for winter.

I vote BMX. Tear up some skate parks on the ebike! That sounds like fun! 8) Plus, I've never seen a BMX ebike, so maybe it's more original.

Nice faring bike BiGH! What model is that (if it's real)?

i have no idea - its the coolest bike i've seen though - it was someone's avatar on bicycleforums.net

im guessing it is just a protype style bike :(

how about stealing fletcher's idea? and getting us some real world data on dual 406/407/408s at 72v? :)

Yeah yeah....dual 408's each at 72v35A -- hubsim says this should be very similar to one 5304 at 72v70A. Double your pleasure....two toothpastes in one....Pizza Pizza!...and all those other two-is-better jingles. :D

Dual motor eh.. hmmm..

How about a dual X405, at 48v 20amp each, in a BMX frame !

2 motors, 2 controllers, 1 throttle, one 48v 25ah LiFe pack.

That could be interesting ..
Sounds like E-bike porn to me.

pxplskkthxbye

Seriously though, I wonder if that setup would be powerfull enough to ride Up a flight of stairs?

Yo Y, is that the spec then? I haven't seen you start a build thread yet.......
I can't wait for the 'Ebike up the stairs' video :D

Cheers,

Ian

The Racer 01 is an evolved form of the the Keirin PAS, it was used as the pace bike for the Keirin bike races at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Essentially it's an electric derny motorcycle.

I'd build this with 25% less cheesy chrome.
