Electric Trike from Germany (with video)

Postby Conchoolio » Sun May 15, 2011 6:03 pm

Hi,
i bought this used Hp Velotechnik Scorpion Trike and put a electric motor kit from the german manufactor "E-Liberty" in it. The motor got just 250W but it still goes 40 km/h on a straight road. The batterie got 36V and 20 Ah and get a range up to 100 km. On the construction i got a lot inspiration from this forum ;) . Thanks a lot for that. I bought this trike 8 weeks ago and get now 2700 km on the odometer. I love this trike. I put a video on youtube and wish you enjoy the view.

Sorry for bad english. I wish you all the best. CU ;)

Hi and welcome to the forum, Conchoolio.

Nice looking trike and mid-drive.

One comment, I couldn't tell if your (son?) was wearing clipless shoes or not. But if not, one of the more common accidents, supposedly, on a tadpole is having a foot slip off the pedal, catching the ground, and then having a leg break when the axle hits it.

Also, in Oregon, USA, a kid has to be 16 to legally ride an electric assist bike on public roads. Whatever, he sure had the e-trike grin. Nice video. :D

Hey nice trike and very nice high quality video, out of interest what camera did you use to record this with and what video edit software did you use.

Thanks for sharing

Hi,

i made a new video with my Scorpion E-Trike. It still runs great. Since last year i drove 10000 km with it. The only damage was a broken plastic gear in the Bafang SWXK Motor. I´ve replaced it against a steel gear, if gear is the right word. Google-Translate told me that.

I hope you have fun watching my Video.
Greetings from Bavaria Germany. CU

Nice trike!
I'm thinking of a front fairing for mine as well.
