Firstly I love the bike! Secondly I love the bike!
So I'll try and give a summary.
Firstly I was perplexed and a little annoyed that there was no manual. Key items such as adjustments and assembly are clearly missing. This includes seat positioning, post cut off, handlebar adjustment etc. I know I'm picky here but as a consumer I shouldn't have to search forums etc for simple info.. Not a huge problem as most buyers are relatively experienced but still....
CA info is completely lacking for bike specifics. No cheat sheet for expected Ah/voltage/whpk etc. Here I think this is a critical flaw as all vehicles should come with an ability to know the specific expected gauge values.
Now to the good stuff.
Handling - bike is weighted well and turns great. Turning circle at low speeds is a little large but not a big complaint
Weight - manageable. I'm 5'9" and 65kgs so the 34kgs is non trivial but definitely manageable.
Brakes- Awesome! No complaints here. Great stopping power. Rear caliper is slightly off alignment and at full adjustment but John and I have a solution so that is all good.
Regen - Am getting better and better use out of it with each ride. I am finding though that if I'm not sitting then the rear wheel will lock/slip slightly since the regen is binary. But I really find this only occurs when near top speed.
Top speed -
Well the website said 50kph. I'm getting 57 without a drama and 60+ if I peddle like a madman. I can only assume the motor has a winding which allows this so it might be a freak one and John seemed to feel that the speeds were definitely too high so his suspicions pointed to a rogue motor wining. I tend to be sticking with traffic in 60 zones so I don't think it is a CA problem.
Cadence- I'm going to switch to a 40T front after talking with John as the cadence is fine at 50kph but since the bike wants to sit closer to 60kph it is just too fast for a continuous stretch of road as much of my commute is.
Power - At top speed the bike is using a continuous ~1400W of power to maintain speed w/o rider assistance. Anyone care to comment on this figure I'd appreciate feedback. Peak power seems to be 3000..3100 so this is as expected.
Suspension - I'm needing to read more about setting these appropriately. The quick lock for the rear is great for road use and seems to allow for a higher top speed too due to efficiency I'm guessing.
So overall I'm loving it!!! A few things which are valid to complain about but John and his prompt support service have overcome these.
Fighter is #086 so I'm keen to know if anyone around this value has had a similar experience with the high speed 'issue'
