Hello! I live in Croatia. My English is bad, excuse me, but the bike is good. :) I was made a 48V 45A Nine Continent kit. I had a box made of reinforced polyester. Controller have been replaced. The first was Infineon 9FET. I ride on Chinese 45A 15FET now.

Seriously nice battery boxes. Too bad about the rim crack. One reason I'm such a fan of full suspension. That and my back is messed up.
THE LIPO RULES. NEVER ABOVE 4.3V NEVER BELOW 2.7V DON'T PUNCTURE

Ideal charging /discharging range for Lipo, 3.65v minimum 4.1v maximum

See battery technology section, FAQ thread at the top of the page for lipo noob info.

You're right. I am searching the full suspension, too. Next year probably. Fat tires can help, maybe. And tires not much inflated.
I've put sunstour parallelogram, my ass and back are much better. :D

I bought this controller from the Chinese through the internet. Maybe someone has an idea how to reduce current or programmed? The box is written on the outside only 45A. I want to connect the USB cable. I am waiting for HS3540 currently. I ordered of the Crystalyte Europe. I paid and I hope to have a quick delivery. For HS3540 45A is ok? Currently I have the Nine Continent 2807. Enough is heated to climbing uphill. I'll be very grateful for the information.

I put new HS3540 motor. Everything what people says is true. I opened the engine immediately. I pulled out a rubber ring, extended opening beside ball bearings. I put a copper pipe couplings, diameter 18 mm. The engine works well. Feel a lack of strength up to 30 km / h, but later it is faster then for 10 kilometers. I am not impressed. Cro engine is much stronger, brutally. Comparison is ridiculous. Climbing uphill is faster with a cromotor with 36V and 40A than the HS with 48V and 40A. Cromotor is no heat ......

Here I have inserted a small copper tube and there is no chance of anything more damaging wires, because the tube is in place with the axle.

My HS has a problem with the temperature. Climbing into the hills it warms. I have a 48V and 45A. The engine is quick, light, and can accommodate lots of gear. For faster cooling I glued the aluminum profiles. It works well. Heat sinks are a lot faster.

I got another idea recently. I need to install Cromotor. Cromotor may not have a problem with heat.
I bought a full suspension frame.

Very nice build, the aluminum profiles how does it reduce the temperature? Im currently gathering components for my first build using crystalyte H3580 in a hot summer climate. Rod

I haven't yet assembled chain. I don't need him. No more heat per hill, with 48V and 50A. A cold, like it doesn't work.

Love that DIY Schlumpf tool! Real ingenuity.
1st build: Dahon Jetstream folding bike. Quick, reliable, capable of 30mph. Light enough to lift, folds for easy transport by car/bus/train.
2nd build: RC powered 2009 Norco A-Line. Top speed 31mph. Built like a tank, it's resistant to Boston potholes, can stop on a dime, easily goes up/down curbs when necessary.
3rd build (just started): Scratch build ultimate utility bike. Based on a common power module using a NuVinci left side freewheel.

NIce work on the bike! I am a big fan of your torque arm solution and your battery boxes :!:
What are you using to make your battery boxes? Fiberglass?
What are you painting the battery boxes with?
Everything looks so clean and professional. Wish I could work with composites like you can :(
