Hi Parabellum, Won't pumping higher voltage into a 36 volt motor - burn it out faster?

I want a bigger frame for the higher speeds,
BUT, I would like the litter one go faster as well.

The frames weigh about the same: 36 LBS,
the litter T78 deluxe frame is made of steel,
while the larger T12's frame is made of aluminum.

There is a manual aspect of propulsion that you add by
"rocking" side to side while you're kicking like rollerblading.
Thus, the larger frame will be better at speed in these two ways.

This aspect of helping it to - keep the speed - has
a certain conservation to the battery as well.

Therefore, I would like to maximize my "speed to weight ratio".
Modifying a T12 with a 60 volt e-kit seems to be the best answer.
Where do I find this mini beast motor and all the associated parts?

I need some "serious" help on the hills.
I would like to top out at 24-30 MPH
and get about 20 miles of travel.

PS. a new controller and better battery
sounds like the answer for the smaller one.

Sorry I can not give any recommendations on 12" hubs, have never had one in my hands. Maybe you should look in scooter/motorcycle section. It is actually only part strictly dimensioned for your need. Look for everything over 500W. Maybe you can just buy mentioned 5000W monster if it fits your fork, little extra power is good to have.
I will jump in when you got one, with rest of your setup.

The motor you chose burns out controllers.

This motor is much better.

and is also nicknamed greyborg.

It will be difficult to spoke almost 10" motor into 12" rim (if you get one).

it would be easier to use it as it is with a pirelli tyre, would probably give him 12" with a thick moped tyre up front

Have you seen what I've done with my T12?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_JRh2ff_cg

1000 watts LiFePo4. 30 mile distance. 2 hour rides. 18.5 mph top speed. Can be made to go faster with higher voltages, but then one risks burning out something.
