Tesla model S: interesting label on the car body

Postby Doctorbass » Fri Jun 08, 2012 12:01 am

It say: Phase Current Amplification

look like it was already discussed alot on E-S... not it's on every model S...

it's different than the usuall ecodrive, V8 32V, ecotech etc... or any other ICE related logo

Now it's related about ELECTRIC technology 8)

IP85 Phase current amplification.. I guess the 85 is the big battery option of 85kwh?

Electric stick on horsepower.. love it!
ES facebook group: http://facebook.com/#!/home.php?sk=group_125035107565566&ap=1

The all-arounder: 8T MAC motor on a Trek 4500.
The girlfriend bike: 350W front MAC on a 700c Trek.
The wheelie machine: 20" Rear Magic Pie II on a Trek 4300 MTB
The Bus: ??? on a 'da bomb' cargo bike frame

Pro-tips for noobs: Avoid BMS Battery like the plague | Charge RC Lipos to 4.15v, stop discharging at 3.5-3.6v | Use torque plates/arms! | Rear mounted hubs are always best

maybe this is just a cool sounding term for the uninitiated,
meaning that motor phase currents are higher than the battery current

I once saw a cheap Chinese motorbike that had so little to boast about....but it did manage to big itself up with a "Fresh Air Intake System" written on the side of the bike lol.

It's a common practice that I hate: putting a badge of the most marketable technology term that applies to your car. Worst ones I can remember: ABS on Pontiac Firebirds, Fuel Injected on VW bugs, OHV, and port-fuel injected...
#1: Diamondback Menona 700c (Commuter)
M/C: e-BikeKit geared rear w/BB7 with 12FET 40A Infineon ebikes.ca
GM 48V LiFePO4 10Ah racked; moving to 12S Turnigy 10Ah framed
+ Speedict, XC30TK disc, Alex Adventurer 700c Disc, Tektro 180mm hyd. with 42mm Kenda Urban

#2: Norco VPS Six DH (Fun) WIP
M/C: Clyte HT3525 (Thanks Meth!!!) http://Methtek.com with Lyen 18FET 24S Regen
Battery: 24S Turnigy 10Ah frame (ABS)

#3: Wifey Bike, Giant eSuede fully customized WIP
