Hi Mike.

I just replaced the motor on a Iacocca eBike. I have the rim (with motor), controller, and all the controls. I was told that the motor needs a centripetal clutch(?).

Anyway, everything is for sale as a kit. You can email me at terry AT 9bitresearch DOT com.

All My Best,
Terry

the heinzman motor does not have a centrifugal clutch. usually it is the gear slipping on the motor shaft that causes it to not move when the motor is spinning.

i was able to glue mine back on with JB Weld, and bearing retainer will work too.

Thanks for that! I just replaced the whole rim, motor, battery, electronics etc. It was a more costly solution but, I am pretty happy with it all.

Any ideas what all the original equipment is worth? I was told $300-$400... but, that sounded a bit optimistic!

Not so high really, if people really want that stock controller, or whatever replaced.

But the broken motor is worth it's scrap metal price more or less. Nobody pay much for broken.
THE LIPO RULES. NEVER ABOVE 4.3V NEVER BELOW 2.7V DON'T PUNCTURE

Ideal charging /discharging range for Lipo, 3.65v minimum 4.1v maximum

See battery technology section, FAQ thread at the top of the page for lipo noob info.

it can be repaired easily, but you are right, nobody pays for anything that is broken. except me.

i wish i had just used the bearing retainer instead of the JB Weld. it woulda been sufficient to hold the gear i think.

Thanks for that, guys.

Since I don't know much about the motor I don't want to fiddle with it and cause more problems.

Anyway, all the stuff is for sale... I am open to any offer!! If you call right now I'll throw in a broken hub motor for free... operators are standing by.

:D
