SOLD 48v 20ah 18650 lifepo4 V-Power pack

Postby Rifle » Wed Jul 13, 2011 8:06 pm

This was my first battery pack. It was involved in a crash about 9 months ago. It made it through basically fine. Worked the same, but a few nicks and cuts in the duct tape. Probably has 125 cycles on it. there's 15-16 useable AH in it. I used the insurance money to get a Ping and now almost never use this, so I want to sell this and use the money to expand my Lipo collection. If anyone wants it for $300 free shipping, it's yours. Otherwise make an offer and it'll go to the best offer I get after a few days or so.

Pics, demensions, and what do you mean about usable ah? Also what is the max and constant discharge capabilities? Hope I can use this to get me a commuter bike going while I re-evaluate my monster motor build.

What he means is that V-POWER sells 20ah packs that only have about 15ah capacity in them.

So, this is different from the Vpack you sold in march right? I got confused a bit I can't remember what that was about.
New to endless-sphere? Notice a lot of signatures recommending Ebike.ca? That's because it's the best place for a quality and manageable, (but still 'real'), first build. Justin is a solid supporter of electric bike development, and a good source of equipment.

My hat off a thousand times to the green people that effectively run this forum. The ES Mods are superb.

Which is about in line with the rule of 80% for most lithium based batteries.

Veloman is right, if the BMS uses a voltage cutoff that correlates with an 80% DOD, the 20ah pack should yield 16ah, a little less if the supercells (collection of paralleled cells, like "superset") are out of balance. Bluestreak, are you saying the BMS cuts off at 15ah, or you have done 100%DOD and only gotten 15ah?

The folks who started after LiFePO4 came out are spoiled - in the old days (NiMh/NiCd) we were happy when cells yielded half of the manufacturer's rating at 100% DOD    because most of manufacturers were lying though their teeth .

The dimensions are approximately 10.5" x 7.25" x 5.5". It has a functioning BMS. By useable AH I meant the amount you can discharge before the BMS hits its LVC. I've attached a picture. The gash on the corner is the worst of the damage. It doesn't appear the gash reached to the cells. It appears there's a layer of something paper like still intact.

Yes, this is a completely different pack. That one was partially disassembled. This one is good to go.

Mine doe's the same thing, you can run till BMS low voltage kicks in. and according to the cycle anlyst it has used about 15ah. (this pack I still have) the other 48volt 20ah pack used to give me about 19ah before cutoff,it finally killed a cell and AMBERWOLF has it now and he fixed it. :) :)

But it's only about 11Ah or so to LVC, as it still has other bad cells in it that arent' dead enough to remove. :)

Perhaps the BMS that allowed 95% DOD (19/20ah) contributed to that state of affairs. :D

That was a pretty good battery for over year and it may have been in a bind on my 500lb. MERIDIAN TRIKE with my x5305 and 48volt 40amp. controller. BTW the V_POWER battery that I still have is 1-1/2in. shorter than the one I sent to AMBERWOLF and at the time we had a big discussion here on ES with a rep. from V-POWER and all he ever would say is blame it on the BMS it's protecting the battery and we asked what was it being protected from but he would not ever give an answer. so there you are!. good day all. :D :D

Oatnet is right. The battery is rated at 20 ah and the bms protects it at 80% usage and cuts it off at roughly 16 ah to not overdischarge into the protected 20% region. I have the same battery and it works exceptionally well. I have put many many miles on mine with big crystalyte motor and 45 amp controler. I paid under 300 dollars for mine new, but had to pay shipping charges from china to receive it.

Notice I forgot to answer the max and continuous discharge rate. It's rated 1C continuous discharge and 2C peak.

Does it come with a charger and if so what amp is it?

Ok, I found an extra connector so I can swap out the connector on one of my chargers and include it.

Also, price drop to $250 free shipping.
