EIG 20ah pouch cells

Postby oaktowntandem » Sun Jan 29, 2012 5:53 pm

I bought 16 of the cells shown in the photo. They are EIG 20ah pouch cells (ePLB C020B). I don't know their history for certain. I was told they were used for an evaluation test and were bound for scrapping through ewaste. I tested two of them with my icharger, got 20ah out of both of them, and offered to buy them. The tabs are intact, however, they appear to be torn from their connectors. I was considering using them myself on an electric scooter project, but don't have the time. Any interest from the Community in these cells? I'm in the San Francisco Bay area.

heya, I was just wondering if you have any idea how much you'd like for these cells. Also, if you think they will be able to offer 2C burst / 1C sustained. I assume, since you haven't said otherwise and because of the 16s set, that these are LiPO4.

Also,
can you offer dimensions?

Thanks!

My apologizes if I haven't looked around for enough information.

Maybe this is Li-Ion? http://www.eigbattery.com/? I can only see LiIon in 20ah format, though they have LIFePo4 as well, in smaller formats. Any ideas you have would be great.
New to endless-sphere? Notice a lot of signatures recommending Ebike.ca? That's because it's the best place for a quality and manageable, (but still 'real'), first build. Justin is a solid supporter of electric bike development, and a good source of equipment.

My hat off a thousand times to the green people that effectively run this forum. The ES Mods are superb.

Are you sure they are C020B and not C020?

Ok, so there is some interest. I ran my discharge tests at 7 amps. These are the C020B version. As I read it, these are NMC cells. Since I don't know their history, I don't have much of an idea of how much they may be worth. When I got them they were resting at 3.7 to 3.75 volts and they still are. I may be able to do a little more testing to help define their utility. Let me know what makes sense.

I came across 14 more of these that have good tabs and 2 that have partially cut tabs. I do not have the cell-specific packaging material to enable certifed hazmat shipping. Pick up in Oakland, CA. I'm offering the good cells for $20/cell.
