I have been collecting parts for something similar for near a year now. In reality the price you are asking would barely cover the motor drive and batteries. I have $2400+ into mine now and have to fix or by a new frame as the one I bought off craigslist was cracked. I expect over $2800 just in parts before I am done. Then a bunch of labor to put it together. So I would consider your offer a good deal can't even come close to the quality of your build for that. I hope it sells for you.
Just pretend that everything is OK maybe no one will notice.

Thanks Biohazardman. I really don't think most people realize the amount of work it takes to put something like this together and make it reliable. I have spent quite a bit on parts for this build and know it's unrecoverable but I would hope that I could get at least half of what the parts cost.... I'm even OK with giving up being compensated for any of my labor or time. I really appreciate the fact that you weighed in on this thread and definitely owe you a beer or two or a few if I can make it to Portland for the summer!

I can't ride this bike anymore because the acceleration really hurts my neck.. No joke. I need some money and it sucks to see this bike sitting in my trailer.

New price. $1,800 or make an offer.

If there's any interest, I can email current pics.

This is a nice bike. You might want to post your location, so people have a better idea. I dont think you posted it
New to endless-sphere? Notice a lot of signatures recommending Ebike.ca? That's because it's the best place for a quality and manageable, (but still 'real'), first build. Justin is a solid supporter of electric bike development, and a good source of equipment.

Thanks Kin. That's a good idea. The bike is in Camp Verde, AZ. I can deliver it within a few hundred miles for the price of fuel or I can partially disassemble it and ship it. Shipping cost in the US would probably run between $100-150. If there is serious interest, I'll get an exact quote for the buyer.

Someone please prove to me that a well designed, 40 mph off road capable, reliable, e-bike is worth at least half of the sum of it's parts! :)

It's not that it's not a great bike, it is (too advanced for my skill level I think), it's just that $1700 is major coin. Tough times I think. Even if it were half that price although cool, I think that I'd have a hard time justifying it with bills that need to be paid and other evs in the house already.

I appreciate your input and agree. I know $1,800 seems like a lot but I've got over $3,500 into the build, not counting my labor. Making something that reliably gets to 40mph in a few seconds, has a decent range, and is still light enough to be pedaled around is way more difficult that most people think. I'm a broke bastard but if I had $1,800 laying around and needed something fun with two wheels to get around and play on, I'd buy this bike at that price in a heartbeat. Times are definitely tough though.

1/23/13 Reason for editing price: New rear rim.

15375 Members in this forum. Way less then that who might be looking at your advertisement. Millions of people looking at eBay for bicycle parts. If you don't want to deal with eBay? There are local people who will sell your stuff for you.
eBay > Trading Assistant Program > Trading Assistant Directory
http://ebaytradingassistant.com/directo ... ?page=home
You can also look at eBay completed auctions to see what other people paid for the same items.
Also if you have a camera? Pictures are worth a 1000 words.
Good luck with the sales.

Thanks Marty.

I just got a new rear rim for it today. Will be available for test rides by next week.

Would anyone be interested in the bike if it had a hub motor/infineon instead of the astro/hv160 and a considerably lower price?

The new rear rim is 32mm wide which is much wider than the old one. It's much more stable now and even seems faster. I also spent some time adjusting chain tension and alignment for the first time ever, in over 2k miles and there's no visible wear on the chain or sprockets.

Someone buy this bike before I change my mind again! :)

I joined the forum just to express how amazing it is that no one's taken your offer. If I lived closer and had the money I'd do it in a heartbeat. I just spent $600 on a two stroke setup without doing much research, I regret it now lol.

OK, now it's over 3500 views. If everyone that looked at this thread donated fifty cents, I could have donated the bike to a worthy forum member, I'd be able to move on with my life and other projects, and everyone could feel good about helping two people out for only fifty cents.
