(7) assorted Motors (3 Left)-9c, BMC, Puma, even chain drive

Post by oatnet » May 21, 2012 9:00 pm

EDIT: Sold motors moved to the bottom of the thread.

Cleaning out hardware leftover from previous projects, check out my 'forks' thread too. I've posted details and prices about each motor inline, following each group of pictures.

Please PM me with questions, and reference which Motor # you are interested in. Shipping and Paypal additional, PayPal requires that I ship to your confirmed address. Shipping to USA only at posted FedEx rates from 90504, so you can get a rough idea of the rate from their website, and I will confirm actual-cost when you buy. Unfortunately I do not have time available for after-sales support, so I'm assuming the buyer has experience to use these items, and this is reflected in the low prices.

Motor 7 - I bought this kit from China last year, it is based on a universal mounting plate that fits on the rear triangle like a currie. The kit also includes motor, controller, brake handles, chain, and bi-directional sprocket, etc etc. $200

Motor 2 - BMC v1 26" Rear Disc. Bought this here from a dealer who said it was new, but the insulation in the wires was torn in some sort of unboxing incident. The pictures show the cuts are minor and far from the axle, so I am inclined to believe him. I never got around to patching the wires and testing it. I paid $335 for it in December 2008, yours today for $140. (SOLD)

Motor 3 - Front 26", I forget if it is Wilderness Energy or Golden Motors. From my very first ebike, a complete 'kit' including throttle, 48v25a controller, and my first attempt at a wiring harness. This has two serious flaws. First, note that one side of the axle has a spacer intended to rest against the inside of the fork, but this spacer is missing from the other side. Second, note that the phase wires got twisted when the wheel walked out of the forks due to serious flaw #1. For the whole 'kit', $50. (SOLD)

Motor 4 - OG 'Puma' Geared Rear motor, unlaced. This is an original, unmolested Puma motor, in the original packing from team hybrid in the UK. Very much like the BMC and MAC. $100 (SOLD)

Motor 1 - 9c 8x8 26" Rear Disc - from Methods special order of 8x8's, plus OEM rim upgraded to a black Sun Rhino Lyte. This was a spare I never used, it is nice and clean, I think it was new when I bought it. The 8x8 winding is the max copper fill for the 9c with great torque, and a rare wind. $250 (SOLD)

Motor 5 - Chinese Clone of an Etek DC motor (I named the pictures Mars by mistake). Great for a EV project, although I planned to use it on a turbine. I paid $275 for it, but the cover for the brush section was smashed in shipping, and I never did anything with it. Weight in box with packaging is 22.8lbs. Yours for $100. (SOLD)

This is a beautiful christmas.

I wish I could justify buying something, but I have a lot of projects going on in my life at this moment. Arrgggh. Hope people make use of this stuff :).

Edit: Do you know if the Fake-Etek fits in any sort of flatrate box? I'm trying to figure out how much it would cost to ship. It is something that I could conceivably find a use for actually in the next year.
New to endless-sphere? Notice a lot of signatures recommending Ebikes.ca? That's because it's the best place for a quality and manageable, (but still 'real'), first build. Justin is a solid supporter of electric bike development, and a good source of equipment.

PM sent for #4, the Puma. Hope I'm not too late!
1st build: Dahon Jetstream folding bike. Quick, reliable, capable of 32mph. Light enough to lift, folds for easy transport by car/bus/train.
2nd build: RC powered 2009 Norco A-Line. Top speed 39mph. Built like a tank, it's resistant to Boston potholes, can stop on a dime, easily goes up/down curbs when necessary.
3rd build (just started): Scratch build ultimate utility bike. Based on a common power module using a NuVinci left side freewheel.

That 8 x 8 9c motor looks familiar.

I can confirm that it has never been used. The rim has been professional laced by a wheel builder that knows what he is doing. Not one failure from any of the ones he has done for me.

Killer price.

JD did an awesome job describing the hub, with quick packing and shipping. Haven't seen better or more careful packing. Thanks! :D
