Kicking the gas habit pretty early in your motorcycling career there Abraham! I thought about selling the Blackbird since I use it about once every three months for a long trip, but at $250 a year to have it parked out the front, I can afford the luxury.

If you need a hand on the e-moto assembly / design / tyre kicking / stubby drinking, I'm willing to help :)

Good luck on the ebike sale - looks like it would go pretty fast (the sale that is).
Voltron the Electric RG250 - Dual Agnis, Kelly 1200A controller, 6 kWh of A123 cells from Cell_Man and a shitty old chassis from 1985 :| Top speed 180 km/h, max current 600 A @ 100 V.
VoltronII 8)
Say no to spaghetti junction LiPo! Assembled Hi-power LiPo packs of any size!

Come on Casey! If you want prototype racing, throw your leg over something with lithium in it :D

Thanks Chris. I will definitely talk to you once I have an e-moto plan (+ finances!)

I'm not entirely ready to give up on gas either. I'm undecided if I should buy a gas 600cc with the intention of riding and then converting or instead plan to have 2 motorbikes 1 gas & 1 electric. I already know I don't have the space for both, but it might not stop me. 2 things I've learned in the past year of going through the licensing process is that I'd like to get a lot more riding experience/practice/training and I'd also like to try riding a variety of different bikes.

The reason I sold the VTR now was that resale value was very good, rego was almost up, I use it infrequently and when I do the risk of losing my licence with lame zero-tolerance on provisional licence is quite high. So, for the next 6 months while I wait for my licence to become full & unrestricted I'll continue saving money and avoid another round of rego & insurance.

Pricedrop - I'd like to see this go & get ridden!

Pricedrop in red.

Complete bike as pictured without battery setup: $3k $2.8k, or $3.2k $3k w/ both 104v chargers. If you think you can build the same bike cheaper, please let me know.
Electric 'kit only': $900 $800 (throttle, controller & complete rear wheel motor with tyre/tube/tuffy/freewheel/disk rotor. plug & play - just add battery!)
