2016 North American "Unofficial" Endless-Sphere Convention

OH! Plus One re any beach. :) Lived 1/2 my life on islands, so surrounded by beaches. (See `em before their gone! )

I'm a little biased, "live in Colorado" but I would vote for Pikes Peak. Colorado, springs is not the greatest place in the world, but they do have Garden of the Gods right there and it is Colorado, lots of mountains. If you plan on doing this anytime before June, the weather can be sketchy, especially up on Pikes Peak. Over 14K ft.

Sounds like real fun!

I vote pikes peak as well, and I know of a camp ground near there, where we could all meet up and get ready to scale the mountain.
This camp ground is the meeting place for most of the groups that go up the mountain, and they have some cool photos of groups that meet up, and some of the vehicles that went up, over the years. We could have a cool camp out, camp fire, and sweet place to gather. Then a short drive to the base of the mountain. We sign a waver, saying we are all responsible for our own actions, and we can go up. I know of a few folks who would be ready to climb again. July would be a nice time of year, but we would have to check the schedules to make sure we get a day when other will not be racing. . .
I will check on the name of the campground again, call and make sure it is the place that I am thinking of. It's near the mountain, maybe 5 miles away or something. Josh K.

When is Interbike 2016? September?

Yes, outdoor demo is the 19th and 20th. The indoor part is 21, 22, 23...

Friday is the only day that is open to the general public, you have to register through some bicycle business to get the pass for the other four days. Its not hard to find a shop that will do that for you, but...you just need to know ahead of time. Its at the Mandalay, and I like to stay at the New York, New York.

So. Reasons for having any "convention":
1) Good off-roading/on-road options

In an increasing "urban" world a majority of travelers may not be too interested in "off-roading". So I'll suggest the target market for ebikes is NOT the leather-wearing, muddy bike riding artist but instead the 9 to 5'er just wanting to get to work and around town.

Haven't ridden off-road since I was 12 and had a bananna bike.

My tank of an E-bike is useless off road, and in fact won't fit on the trails because it has three wheels. With me on it, the freakinn thing weighs 500 lbs. But man, a nice no-traffic rural ride on pavement, maybe some good scenery, that's what I am talkin about! I'd even go for Pike's Peak, although I dunno if I wouldn't overheat things trying the actual hill.
