Here in Portland we have a couple of surplus electronics shops
Surplus gizmos is probably the largest
http://www.surplusgizmos.comHas a lot of connectors and switches and occasionally a few single cool items
Cascade surplus is on the other side of town from me and I haven't been there since they moved even further away. Somebody else will have to comment on them, before they moved I can't remember much more than old relics and lots of transformers.
I haven't seen anyone mention Hamfests we have several good ones in the pacific northwest. Next weekend is a really big one in Washington, when I say really big its really big. I usually get a couple of tables and my daughter sells stuff while I bring other peoples stuff back so my truck maintains its proper ballast.

http://www.seapac.org/There are hamfests all over, you can look up many of them on
http://www.arrl.comThese are basically flea markets for electronics and you can find all sorts of strange and wonderful stuff to take up space.
Hope someone finds these links useful
