Man, I am so jealous.
I love to dumpster dive!

The closest thing we have here are "divorce yard sales" where distraught women sell everything their ex-husband owned after he leaves. I got a bicycle kiddy trailer for $3 US !!! I asked the lady why she was selling it so cheap and she said "Because it was HIS". All I had to do was fab a mount (apparently the mount was still on HIS bike) and ever since I have been set.

One day I was dragging home two 50 Gallon garbage cans from the hardware store and I thought it would be cool to try to go through the skate park. I got through the bowl a couple of times but all the nylon in the trailer ended up ripping out and now it drags ass.

Ezee dual suspension, li mn, studded tires.

pretty stealthy, eh?

This has been my winter bike for 7-8 years. My commute has gotten longer, and I've gotten older...Oh, hell, I don't need excuses...I did it for fun. I got the kit from ebike.ca.

My Ebike is a Specialized Rockhopper Disc

I used it 1 year before converting to E-Bike setup.

(this is not my picture....but it's my exact bike before the conversion)

I started with 40 A123 cell from 4 Dewalt pack setup in 2 pack of 10S2P with a switch to go from series / parrallel (33 Volt or 66 Volt)

Crystalyte 20 Amp 72 Volt pedal frist controller

Crystalyte 406 26'' wheel with disk brake

Then I found out I needed a Cycle Analyst to know when I would run out of power... So I added it.

Then I added another 20 cell to make a final 2 pack of 10S3P setup in series/parrallel with a Relay control by a handle bar mounted switch to make 20S3P or 10S6P for 66 or 33 volt.

This is all mounted in a special made bag that fit perfectly in the middle of the triangle(it's soo tight with the battery in that I had a hard time to put it in there) my mom did it for me :)

I can do 15KM @ 55 KM/H or 35KM @ 35 KM/H (9 miles @ 34 MPH or 21.5 miles @ 21.5 MPH)

I plan to build another E-bike, next one will be full suspension downhill MTB with enough power for 65KPH (40MPH) and enough battery for 65KM (40 miles) drive at 40MPH, so probably 2000 Watt of A123.

Not sure between Crystalyte 503 or Cyclone 1200 or 1500 watt setup...

And my home made charger to charge each cell (or parrallel cell)to 3.65 Volt then stop with visual display of the voltage from 2.65 to 3.65 (2.65, 2.75, 2.85, 2.95.... for each led of the ten ledbar display) charge at 2.5 Amp/Hours

Salut Robin Bienvenu ici!

J'avais vu ton kit ste Evalbum..

Hi Robin.. nice build! Could you share the source of that triangle bag? Is that a FalconEV bag? I'm looking for a triangle bag just like that! Thanks.

EDIT: Oops... just say that your Mom did that bag. I want one! How much?

That bike looks great. Nice setup, nice work! I like the simplicity.

I like your future plans too. . . What would it take to convince you to build a bike with a lower top speed and higher thrust? I have a dual suspension that will go 45mph but to tell you the truth. . . It is just so fast and dangerous. Day after day I ride slower and slower but with greater acceleration from stops and around corners.

Good luck either way!

My electric tricycle. Its a Schwinn Meridian tricycle with 26" wheels. The hub motor and controller are from a BL-36 electric bike kit. I used three 12 volt marine batteries in series for power.

E-Trike Cruiser 1000watt 48v

Postby AussieJester » Sun Jan 04, 2009 9:47 pm

Thought i would post a pic of my new trike
here, its still a work in progress but
is pretty much had all the fabrication done
just requires 'prettying up' which i had planned
to do few weeks ago BUT as it is now summer
in Australia and temps hitting near 40 degrees
and nearer 50 in my workshop i really can't see
alot of progress being made...combine that with
the fact im having too much fun riding it to take
it apart for powdercoating LoL..

So for now as it stands-->

Image

Powered by 1000watt 48v 20ah setup using a Kelly 200amp controller...WattsUp meter keeps tabs on the batteries top speed thus far 72km/hr (in second gear)

Aside from powdercoat and chrome, there are some
3in 20s for the back on there way from ChoppersUS
I also have a quickfire gear changer to go on when
the extra long cables i have ordered arrive...I still haven't
decided on a battery solution so the SLAs will remain
for the short term...I need a battery that is capable of
around 5c i believe. Seriously considering some Konion
cells from Doc the number of cells required though is a
little daunting to me :-S

Shall update pic as more work is done....

Something to consider everyone. All these bikes are eye catching, thats a problem if you wanna lock it up somewhere. I mean if you paid a ton of money it would be terrible to come back and find your bike stolen. For me, stealth is the way to go. The police and tell the difference between my bike with a wilderness energy kit and a regular bike when im riding.
