Total noob here so bare with me;
What sites are best for batteries? iv herd the ones off alibaba and aliexpress and the likes ares worth bothering with so im wondering where is best to buy them.
currently got a 35ah pack for my alpha hyena build but i think iv worn it out, when i run the bike in 10kw mode the voltage sags very quickly (i only get about 3 seconds of acceleration in 10kw then the voltage sags to bellow 70 and the motor gives a jumpy tapping feeling, which normally starts to happen after 10-14 miles which is when i usually switch back to 6kw mode which it works fine in)
Jay said he was going to send a battery with higher volatge cells which would be slightly less amp hours but with the way i ride (maxing it out everywere in 10kw :) ) probably still better range

here is the bike ; :) https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=71666&start=1675#p1309768
I was waiting for a battery from Jay@hyena but havnt had any response to emails in weeks... hope hes ok
thanks

I just bought mine from http://www.aliexpress.com. Don't buy from any other vendor/seller/dealer on that website except for: UNIT PACK POWER (UPP). Their product is genuine, they answered all my questions, and customized my battery - I asked for them to install a BMS with a higher amp rating.

It took 11 days from China from the shipping date to receive it here in California. I opened up the pack at once to inspect and made sure the batteries where genuine Sanyo 18650GA's as was advertised in the item listing.

I didn't want to buy from China or overseas, but after reading the feedback left by other people who have bought their (UPP) batteries, and reading the product descriptions and comparing them to the other sellers on aliexpress, I went with that company. The other companies seem flaky.

I made sure I wasn't going to through away my money by having a battery pack made of generic/fake batteries. Most of the dealers/companies on there don't state what batteries they are using.

If you go through aliexpress.com and UPP, be very patient...it took about 3-5 days for my credit card to be verified (a good security feature of aliexpress) on top of the 11 days waiting for the battery.

cheers Grider, i had a quick look then; they dont seem to do anything higher than 68volt.
do they build them to order? i couldnt see anything on there site about it though..
thanks

Tell them exactly what you want and your specifications and they should be able to build it, because they have all the supplies or they access to them. For my battery, I told them my controller was 35A, and that I wanted a higher amp rating BMS on the battery than was advertised on the website for the battery that I wanted. When they replied, they said they checked with their "engineer" or "electrician" and recommended that I should go with a 40A. Then I told them to also send me a spare BMS, just like the one they were going to customize mine with, and I received that too with the package (of course it was a little extra).

Whatever you are trying to do, think of all the possible things you want now or in the future, and ask them what they can do for you.

When I pressed the "contact seller" button, my messages indicated that I was communicating with a "Rechie" and a "Wendy".

UPP BATTERY, as far as I know they're the only place to get this hard plastic enclosure, I just got it today, put it on the bike, did a quick test .. A few curb hops and high speed down the alley across the pot holes. Solid as a rock. This is a 19 inch bonded aluminum frame. I need an extra velcro strap..... It only came with one extra I need 2 to make up the extra distance at the rear, not a big deal. It was still rock solid. It may take a couple of tries to get the straps extra tight, but not hard at all. . Now I'm going to open it up and see what makes it tick. 52.5 volts out of the package USB is live and working.
Here is a link to their site.

And no there is not a drive motor on that bike yet I will be ordering the3000w cyclone next week.
As far as the weight, it is about 12 pounds this pack is completely unnoticeable once underway, if I can move it to the bottom of the triangle, once the motor is installed, I will build a kydex compartment on top of it between it. And the top tube, for storage/ speed controller and maybe a small ham radio.... Not sure yet form follows function.

A lot of information here, almost too much....
I did get a 40 amp. BMS upgrade with this 52 volt battery, not a lot to see inside.

I had planned on making a battery box myself and making a kydex enclosure, I still will have to do this on one of my other builds because the frame opening is unique. I have never used one of the canvas bags, but I imagine this is vastly better.

With a little bit of fabrication I could get by with 2 of these side by side and still have knee clearance.

The pack is only 3 inches wide.. Very slick compact case. Does anyone know of any other cases like this on the market? One a little bit bigger would be great if it would hold the charger and the speed controller inside..

Keeping the battery nice and warm until I use it next week, I will do a follow up. Give the true amp hours, etc..

I was looking at the UPP website. Appears to be free shipping, which I like, but now it seems too good of a deal. Was it properly marked as a lithium battery when it arrived. I only want to support vendors who are good citizens and ship lithium batteries per international rules.

Found very interesting the plastic bag with straps to tie it :D

My only concern is that I do manly offroad, XC and trails in poor conditions.

Do you think the straps will hold the pack firmly and secure doing offroad?

Thanks for your help
