Just wondering if wages for experienced bike mechanics are keeping up with inflation? How much do bike mechanics generally make today?

Last time I asked a couple places around here, anybody (regardless of experience level, of which mine is mediocre) would start at minimum wage. Neither of those places still exists, so that probably says something.
